Cheap iphone, as far as i know iphone in my county cheap after 3year like iphone cheap definition in my country price still a round 200-250usd. Do not ask iphone x iphone x top model around 1200usd .defind me cheap. If like se in my country aroun 400usd...so apple can you fight cheaps like china phone.
Basically Iphone X is the new iphone and its screen real estate is about 83-84 sq cm, same size as the old plus models. This is a direct acknowledgement from Apple that the market has moved on to larger screens. Want another proof ? Apple was prototyping a 5.2-5.3” model for this years iphone 9. In the end they decided to go with the 6.0-6.1” one only. To sum it up, in September we’re going to get a 5.8”, a 6.1” and a 6.4-6.5” line-up of new iphones. What do they have in common ? Well, in terms of screen estate, all of them will offer more screen than the current plus models....Here’s the one million dollar question: what happens to the former regular sized iphone, the 4.7” one ? My guess is this will be the new SE, and if they’ll sell it at around 400$, regardless it will be built much like the ipad 2018, with two years old processor and specs, my guess is it will sell like hot cakes.
Going back to reflect on the 4.0” SE model, brings back some memories. I owned an iphone 5s and a htc m7 in parallel. At that time Apple was still telling us 4” is all we need, but I remember I bought the m7 first and then, couple of months later the 5s came and ios7 was a hit. As much as I have enjoyed ios7 at the time, the difference between 4 and 4.7” was huge, the iphone ended as secondary device for that year. That extra amount of screen made the difference. 4.7” might be small by today standards, but is a great improvement over a 4” device.

SE has poor sales latetely because its old, not because its tiny. There are lots of people who would prefer a small phone; similar in size to the SE.
In my opinion, discontinuing the SE is a huge mistake by Apple, and it will only be a matter of time before they bring a new small phone back. First, however, they must realize that there is indeed a significant demand for a smaller phone, and that demand is not to be confused with the demand for a CHEAP phone. Apple seem to think that the preference for a small phone and a cheap phone is the same, but there is a high demand for small high-end phone, i.e. lots of people would pay the same price as the iPhone 8 for a 4"-screen phone.

Carriers themselves are having a hard time trying to selling the iPhone SE. You can buy an iPhone SE in the US with a prepaid straight talk card worth $35 for a total of $85. That makes the iPhone SE only $50. So people don't want that tiny excuse of a smartphone anymore. It's not even a HD display.
They should do to this phone like they do to old farm animals. Take it out to pasture and shoot it.

Now:
Who is the most profitable company? Apple
So the companies (mainly chinese ones and then later most of the big players) followed after the big player's idea. Idiotic as it may be, you just saved 95% of the money spent on R&D by thinking how to make the phone like a blatant Copy and paste of the iPhone.
End of story.

Question would be - why other manufacturers followed apple and started to remove it.

Not one mention of removing a headphone jack since it was born till stupid apple did it now it is. None of you on this forum since I joined in 2003 have mentioned now you do. I really hate apple greedy closed wall garden company everything comes through iTunes which is awful piece of software.
Anonymous, 10 Jul 2018Another thing, it is easier to lose a wireless one compared to a WIRED one.I lost the headphones that were included with the Samsung galaxy Note 5 (wired) the day I got them.
I have never lost my Bluedio T2's (Bluetooth)

AnonD-771260, 10 Jul 2018Guys who complain about headphone jack - why don't you try bluetooth headphones. Yes, you need... moreSorry but IMHO, having a 3.5mm headphone jack is still vastly SUPERIOR compared to Bluetooth especially if it comes with Quad DAC like the LG V30. May have to wait 5 to 10 years for Bluetooth to catch up in terms of battery life that lasts a week and better audio quality (even though LDAC is present nowadays).
