Please remember that the majority of phone buyers will stick to the 2yr contract lifecycle. Makes no sense to do anything else except tick tok the designs. S8 users were not the target for S9 sales, S7 users were, and they see the most benefit. We here are the minority, our opinions are better informed, but our number is few.

hemant, 12 Jul 2018samsung is now selling rubbish. no innovation. old phones packed in new frame Truth be told, only Huawei has the product line up that allows innovation, and they fall short all too often. I wish companies would grow a pair, and take some risks. Such as using something other than glass, radically improving camera stabilisation and trying wide angled lenses. Playing with materials. Why not have an experimental line, Huawei and Samsung are leaders so they have the opportunity. Try new materials, especially on the back, try different placements for fingerprint sensors, new battery sizes, more rugged devices.

They improved the camera and processor, fingerprint placement, s pen, battery (by a mile), screen. They are nicely edging away from those awful edge designs.

Well Clearly Samsung themselves Don't want us to buy this, Since they put Zero effort in improving the Phone.

          Eagerly waiting for the S10.

For an analogy, Look at it like this,

This is that boring movie(Note 9) that nearly killed you, and then the blockbuster(S10) comes out which is good (Not Great), and in comparison to the boring movie, its just Great !!!

Excatly what Samsung is doing now

Indeed. FAR BEHIND COPYING. All china brands are hot at cloning iPhone X. Notches without reasons.. bezelless with chin, popup camera gimmick.. Battery unoptimised crap.

You go pickup a old Sony midranger from the 2015, they function better then nowadays China clones.

Dont compare this Phone to Apple iPhones. Compare this to the other Android Devices. There are a lot of OEMs there in the Market that can beat Samsung. Most of the comments here is targeting Apple. So funny.

Each odd number of the note series was always an incremental update.. Basically a bug fix of types.. If you remember note 7 was the most loved phone before it started catching fire.. Not that note 5 wasn't a good one.. But it brought about some well required changes... And if you do look up at the note series thay havnt radically changed their design except for the curved edges.. Which btw if you start using there's no way you'll go back to regular screens

DT BOY, 11 Jul 2018rip samsung,in another 5 years you will be like nokia, blackbery and motorola as chinese brand ... moreThats the truth. Im hearing Samsung apologists saying that "oh but they're focusing on the big 10th anniversary Galaxy flagship, so naturally S9/Note 9 will not be put much effort into.." okay.. so they should have skipped 2018 flagships and instead focused manpower and finances to the maximun towards S10/Note 10 devices.. Ehen phones reach this price point its the best or nothing, including major design overhaul each year imo. Its crazy that we cant tell the difference between S8 and S9 from the front.. its pretty sad. Samsung could have EASILY trimmed the bottom bezel at least to make it more modern and warrant a purchase. Samsung should have in my opinion have: Made the S9 duo with smaller bottom bezel, and also trimmed the top and side bezels as much as possible while accomodating sensors. Finally they should have bundled it with an improved Gear VR. that would be an acceptable "gap year" phone as it were.

Solid and modern design really. A bit even underrated IMO. Will be interesting to see what kind of look the S10 and Note 10 series will offer us.
