Raging anti Samsung fanboys be like: Samsung brings no innovation.
Yep *Looks at 400 phones from 50 brands that copied Samsung S8*
And sam-fanboys and -fangirls think they are different from other customers. Samsung does nothing different from other companies, though, they are not even innovating anymore.
Anonymous, 11 Jul 2018Give just 1 reason of why it's something negativeSome people don't want to buy same crap every year.
Change in design most likely will bring new hw features.
But that also mean that the feature is first released and prone to bugs and errors.
IMO i rather go for proven old design then be a guinea pig. I don’t need a bragging phone, i need a functioning one that i know i can trust when in need.
Ndroidlover, 11 Jul 2018Oh Common !! Please stop this "Looks same" thing..... We all know that next year is Samsung... moreYeah HUGE....like huge disappointed.

Same design doesn't mean lack of inovation. the dual aperture camera is proof of that. Same design acutally even mean improvement, they moved the FPS, they added stereo speakers (which should actually have been there from the begining, but still), they seem to have reduced the bezel size
"Same reasons that car design changes."
Yes because cars definetelly change design every year. Lots of cars haven't changed desing in years.
"They really remind me of the old Soviet style: If it works, don't change it."
And the opposite, the "bring change for the sake of change", is what led the iPhone to have a notched screen. It's what led the pixel to have a half-metal half-glass back. It's what led most phone to have rounded corner. It's even what led Samsung to put curved screen border on all of their flagship.
Oh Common !! Please stop this "Looks same" thing.....
We all know that next year is Samsung's 10th anniversary for the Galaxy Range of Phones.
They Clearly don't want to spare their workforce and Man hours for This year Phones (S9/Note9). They are totally focused on Next years Phones. and the S10 is Launching in January, Galaxy X is Launching in February. Considering those Major Releases, we can skip this year phones and wait till January.
Trust me it is going to be HUGE !!
Samsung is New Nokia
Anonymous, 11 Jul 2018most of samsung user-base cosists of people who dont use their phone more than for making a ca... moreTbf the S series sales, have been on the decline for some time now. In brand loyalty, only Apple are ahead of Samsung but by some distance. Samsung stopped paying attention to the complaints and sat on their laurels. Apple have listened much sooner with iOS 12 focusing on bug fixes and speed/battery life improvement. Features are useless without optimisation. Samsung had to learn the hard way.
This is just basically what the Note 8 should have been but for the improvements in the stylus, processor update.
4k man battery is the bare minimum for the money they're asking for. Putting a smaller battery, then lower the price. Take it or leave it Samsung.
I expect software to be even better given experience on S9+ being lag free FINALLY. After all these years of lag!
rip samsung,in another 5 years you will be like nokia, blackbery and motorola as chinese brand is going to take over your market if you continue without any new innovation on your flagship model

Mailman, 11 Jul 2018Why would Samsung change design every year? Apple already proved that people likes practical p... moreBecause ppl who buy Apple do not buy it for the looks or for the looks update. Most of them buy it for the OS, the Eco-system, the quality and the support (teenagers aside). If they love the OS, actually there is not much choice for them, is it? On the other hand in the Android world, there is plenty of choice and competition is getting really tough these days of Chinese Invasion
Hmm, although all rumors, etc., are pointing to the same direction of just an incremental upgrades, let's hope that finally it will turn out to be not exactly. In other words, let's hope that the final real thing will be a little bit (at least) better than just that/this! Otherwise it definitely won't be worth it to upgrade from a/the S9+(mostly), and almost even from a Note8 & S9. And Samsung definitely won't like and want that.
Anonymous, 11 Jul 2018Give just 1 reason of why it's something negativeInnovation, development / improvement, refresh, vision, future etc. Same reasons that car design changes. They really remind me of the old Soviet style: If it works, don't change it. Just put a different engine, change thegear lever and you're good to go. It might be a good and risk-free logic and indeed it works (specially the Note 8), but in today's capitalistic world you do have to innovate and improve if you want to keep your share.
Its an improved Note 8 with dated and boring edges. Flat surface would have been better for a note.
Anonymous, 11 Jul 2018ha ha ha... now samsung fans have to face the same trolls like sony face year ago
keep it ... moreHa ha. Indeed. But I bet you the trolling will not be as bad as Sony which seems to attract them like flies on honey :)
Nevertheless I think it will still sell hundreds of thousands, just because it is Samsung (and not Sony :))
Why bother releasing this? Few if any would buy it knowing it will look outdated within 6 months.
I'd pick up a note 8 over this at a cheaper price, while they're still in stock.
I don't really understand people who expected a new design? like really?
what can you possibly change in the design of the phone that has almost no bezels ?
only the back side.
this phone is targeted towards a specific audience (business and creative ppl etc.) which clearly 99% of commenting here are not this type.
what is the point of having a huge phone that can barely fit your pocket?
