Plus, the manufacturing process which will definitely help in reducing the heat. As long as it doesn't go as bad as the SNAPDRAGON 810 it should be good to go

But right now, the manufacturing cost are just too high to make variants, specially when your chip needs more silicon than other options.
Apple can afford that because they sell a lot of phones with the same chip. And probably dont care upping the prices a bit for the consumer...
AnonD-594740, 11 Jul 2018Cmon be realistic.

The S2 had an Exynos 4211, that was a dual core A9 1.2 GHz, had 1 GB of ram, and the resolution was 480x800
The first note had a stronger Exynos 4212, that one was a 1.4 GHz A9 dual. Kept the 1 GB ram but added a 32 GB option, the resolution was upped to 1280x800 and had a better camera too (though same resolution)
Onwards: S3
The S3 used a HD display, Quad core A9 1.4 GHz, and had either 1/2 GB of ram (depending if Plus or not)
The N7100, known as Note 2, kept HD. BUT HAD a 1.6 GHz quad core chipset, all variants had 2 GB of ram, and added a 64 GB option
Forward to 2013, the year of S4
The S4 had either the 5410 or the snapdragon 600 (and the 800 in a special edition i9506) 2 GB of RAM. And went FHD
Note 3 kept the FHD but deployed an indefinitely more powerful 5420, or 800 (with no special edition) RAM was bumped to 3 GB, AND a few more feature on the cam.
And the last year was the S5 with note 4 companions
S5 had a snapdragon 801 (with a special edition G906h 805) or an exynos 5422. While the note 4 opted directly to 805 or the beasty 5433 of the time
5, 7, and 8 used the SAME CHIPSET as their S comrades.
S6 and note 5, note 5 just added 1 gig of ram to 4
S7 and Note 7/FE: Doubled the storage from 32 to 64
S8 and note 8: added 2 GB of ram and a dual camera.
If there's a chance for the old tradition of making note stronger than S, I'm all for it!
Wouldn't a 2x2x4 config be better for heat distribution and a 4x4 though to dissipate heat?
Manhurt, 11 Jul 2018But it"s has low versality for Battery. That is why there is Mid Cluster.Actually, that's the point of the big.LITTLE cluster: better battery management.
But a MiDdLe one hmmmmm not so sure.

I meant, that the current exynos 9810, its even bigger than everybody else and that implies more silicon, and more silicon means more money at each chip, so the reduction in cores could be a consequence for the bad sales of the S9 and all the money in their chips.
Why did mediatek drop those configurations if they were good? Why not incorporate it with their P series instead?

Just to let you understand HOW large they are, the weaker Mistral cores are about the same size as current top dog core A75. Now. Walter C. Dornez, 11 Jul 2018I'm sorry, can you explain that statement in Layman's terms? The 9815 benchmarks scoring 5k were fake.
Using just 2 cores instead of 4 like last year can mean that their arch is still way power hungry to rely on the same 4+4 cluster configuration. That, or cost; the current exynos uses a lot of space for those 4 cores.

Around 4,500 like the current A11 is more reasonable for these meerkat 1.5 cores, and probably will throttle a lot given that they had decided to use just 2 of them.

In normal and intensive usage just swap A76 in and can already run all apps at full potential. A55 is for standby and light processing apps though.
I don't think it will go beyond 3000 MHz, for stability, power and heat issues.
But it should deliver quite the performance.
Samsung is really bold for incorporating unmodified ARM cores, as if they are admitting their M4 limitations and offering a solution right away.
