4K photos and videos and so piercingly sharp that they take your breath away.
You need true 4K videos to appreciate it.
They must have hired Fisher-Price to do their color choices.
Blue with a yellow pen? They think we want a Power Ranger version next?
Pabliell, 12 Jul 2018It's never time for a 4K screen in a phone. If you want a better VR experience, just go and bu... moreYeah it should be 4k so the vr doesnt suck a golf ball through a garden hose like it does as we speak.. VR now is totally unbearably awful. Fix the field of view to 180 degrees and high res screen and boom we're talking about somethimg worth putting our hard earned dineros into
Any company that puts a 20% larger battery in, improves the camera, processor, screen, ergonomics, functionality with the s pen, improves the footprint, should not be criticised for a lack of innovation. They nailed it. Could they do more? Hell yeah. But please refrain from saying there are no improvements. Now let's have some polycarbonates and get rid of the glass and edges.

AnonD-772315, 12 Jul 2018Owner of Xperia XZ Premium here.. Trust me you don't need a 4K screen on a phone, it's pointle... moreFor most people, 90% of the time, a screen of diagonal 5.5 inches or below inches and FHD resolution is more than enough, as long as it is bright in sunlight, has great contrast, can get very dim in low light and has excellent color accuracy and a wide gamut. If people do spend time looking at, maybe, high resolution drawings on their screen close up, or perhaps art images, and the screen diagonal is 6 inches or beyond, then a QHD screen could be justified. Beyond that, the sort of people who could gain a real benefit from it would be tiny. of course, in a VR application its a different story, but at the moment that remains pretty niche.
My friend uses demo model since last week . It looks same to me except UI.

Looks good would better if they colored the side frame yellow and blue buttons with samsung logo on back yellow too, a black with red buttons, spen and samsung logo would cool
I recently purchased used Note 8 for 450 euro. I love this device. Battery isn't amazing, but it's far better than my previous LG V20 with 3 batteries. Superior camera performance. Fast charging, no lag. I'd consider Note 8 if rumours about 4000 battery are true. Yet I would still wait half a year to sell my old one and pay a bit extra. If the battery is 3750 it's not worth to change it, better wait for Note 10. I find edge display nice, but don't use edge features.
is yellow couse is made out of gold xDD
I would've liked for them to go for a yellow/gold frame on the phone to match
Before the flood begins, I want to save some thumbs or fingers. Please be aware of the tick-tok of designs philosophy, driven by the 2yr phone contract cycle. That is where the money is, so that is the driver for companies. The bulk of sales will go to those that finish a contract, which is why phone releases also tend to happen around the same time each year/ every few years. Apple are great at it, and they scoop up everyone that bought a new iPhone 2yrs prior, because that is when their contract ends. So companies will align their releases, and make greater changes every other year. By doing that, and having new processors, they lock you in to a pattern of behaviour, and always have something to offer that is sufficiently obviously newer and better. The commenters here are NOT the typical consumer, our views are more informed, our views are more nuanced. I live in UK, so I am representing a UK opinion. Most people know when they are due an upgrade, and will habitually default to type, to the familiar. A phone company would need to do a great deal wrong, or suffer vast competition before they lose a customer. Just look at the dissatisfaction with HTC customer support, and their recent trouble. In terms of "no I not, this phone improves on battery, ergonomics, and performance in camera and software. Really all anyone wants.
Salah, 12 Jul 2018It's time for Note9 to have a 4k Display as well. Being 4K on a small display is useless and power waste for average users, because their eyes can't see the difference with the legacy QHD.
Better to increase its refresh rate, which is easy to experience, moreover most nowadays smartphone can record video more than 60fps, such a waste if we watch it on standard 60hz display . Good to hear if we could see a 144hz phone display.
AnonD-772315, 12 Jul 2018Owner of Xperia XZ Premium here.. Trust me you don't need a 4K screen on a phone, it's pointle... moreI agree, 1080 for mid range, 2k for top end, 4k for niche.
So you don't loose it in the dark
