The last TouchWiz version was the less bloated of all (S7 version) and with Experience 8.0 and 9.0, there is no lag or shutter, and isn't as bloated as you mean.

Times have changed, the experience may already turned into something better. Really? Is Sony the only one using glass backs? What about other brands? Most high-end flagships from 2017 - 2018 already started using glass backs, Sony isn't alone here. Plus, one of the important features that high-end flagships must have in 2018 is Qi wireless charging, so ditching the glass back will be a deal-breaker for some, hence there's no turning back. If u don't like glass backs why not u look for a mid-end flagship? There are still a lot of non-glass back smartphones below the high-end flagships

This happened when? 20 years ago? lma... moreSony Ericsson did had Symbian phones, maybe he's pointing on that, in the past i had SE Vivaz Pro Symbian 9.4 if i remember right but was very long ago, 2010, the phone worked for like 4 years, then the screen got death, even if it wasn't the screen or display i'd buy new one since Symbian was just waste of OS

I've been using a Sony Z for 5 years and it's still working flawlessly and with no lags. I've upgraded to XZP just to keep in track with Android.
Glass sandwich and still intact, without ever using a case or a bumper.

Well sony improved alot (now its going backwards especially with design) buy they XZP or XZ1 (metal back) you wont be disappointed (except for camera maybe depending on your current phone)

Often time its only give problem... moreYep, but even much worse is buying a fake scam phone than buying a refurbished phone. Fake phone that copy the others brand [ Not Chinese brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, OPPO and Vivo, other random chinese infamous companies] they tend to put extremely old CPU and GPU and and using mediocre components.
I hope you I understand what Iam thing to say. :)

About the 2nd or 3rd major update and see it... moreAgreed, if you're buying android you should get either an android one/pixel/android go and make the upgrade to a newer version when you know there are no unforeseen bugs. While on iOS you chose to have the bugs, slowdowns and everything else as intended.
