Can someone provide actual user review other than personal prejudice. Most of the people here are just quoting words uttered by tech reviewers.
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2018I love HTC and a diehard fan. This design on the U12+ is probably one of the best they've did ... moreBeen HTC supporter for years and always believed in the company. My current phone is u11, but they are just WTF, after WTF after more WTF. Prices too high, support has gone done the drain. Still on Dic security patch and 8.0 on an unlocked u11. My first Android was HTC vivid, this may be my last HTC :(.
HTC, im a need you to calm down.
The price is too got damn high.

Koala, 13 Jul 2018Looks like HTC is fckd up, Even diehard fan is mad. I'm past mad and disappointment.
After 8 straight years since Hero, I switch to Asus Zenfone 5.
I move on.....
Love the Community, 13 Jul 2018Why not have 2 USB-C ports? Technology can do anything but naysayers from the blog say so othe... more2 usb-c ports will fix the issue of charging the phone and listening to music at the same time but there are still a lot of people that still want to use the 3.5mm port without carrying an adaptor with them all the time, it's very easy to fit in a 3.5mm port and there is no reason not to do so.
HTC - Help This Company. Please don't die my dear brand.
Anonymous, 14 Jul 2018Surely this is their last roll of the dice. I really assumed that the U12+ would step it up. I... moreother than oleds (because of their loss of quality and corruption via burn in) I agree, HTC is dying and I am very skeptical that my next phone would be HTC which is odd for me.
Too little too late htc
This isn't even a global released update. Just in Taiwan. Released a phone later than pretty much everyone else, with smaller battery than last year, no QC4 adapter as stock, high price tag and poor screen as previously. Bad battery life comparatively to the competition. No IR blaster. So what's the point? Broke the buttons as well on release. All the reviews were done that stock firmware. Too little too late. Incompetence is HTC.
Whackcar, 13 Jul 2018U12+ is a great phone with a bad price. HTC needs to realize their brand appeal isn't what it ... moreYou seem to be suggesting that it is a great mid ranger, at flagship price. Trouble is, the mid range seem to get the battery right, so could it compete there too? A great looking mid ranged device is just about as good as the u12+, but wins due to battery.
Love the Community, 13 Jul 2018The damage is already done... The haptics would've been the future for Android too if it weren... moreAdd the HTC camera tech to the v30, with an improved screen, and a slightly bigger battery, you have my dream phone. The V40 has the potential to be phone of the year, along with the Pixel 3. Note could be close, but that battery issue withe the Exynos variants needs to be fixed. They take the edges off, then that becomes a great device.
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2018Hope U13 learns the past mistakes of U12+, U11+, U11 and PUT BACK the 3.5mm headphone jack. Al... moreSurely this is their last roll of the dice. I really assumed that the U12+ would step it up. I assumed wireless charging would be in, I assumed the 4000mA u11+ battery would be in it, as a minimum, the screen would have been Oled. What I didn't predict would be that they would retain the panned screen, reduce the size of the battery, break the buttons. Leaving out wireless charging was ridiculous, as were the other choices.

what about a fix for the fake easily removed capacitive buttons?

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2018Hope U13 learns the past mistakes of U12+, U11+, U11 and PUT BACK the 3.5mm headphone jack. Al... moreHighly doubt there will be a U13. HTC's mobile division isn't probably going to survive that long. Every year they screw something up, and the cash bleeding problem is accelerating at an ever alarming rate.
HTC used to have 17000-ish employees back in M7 days. Now, by September they'll be down to 4500-ish from 6000-ish (22% of workforce being laid off).

Then again, if I only have one port to work with, I'll prioritize one and not do the other. I may have a Nokia 8 but I have a one track mind to go for. At least I have a higher chance to live on since I don't put on a headphone while charging at home.
Love the Community, 13 Jul 2018No, don't bring back the jack. Their USonic is the key to make USB-C a viable end all be all r... moreWhy not have both? You can have the usb-c and the 3.5mm port at the same time. I dont think it really is an innovation anyway since there are a lot of instances where the 3.5mm port is helpful, for example if you have really good headphones or if you use an aux cable in someone else's car. If you use the usb-c port for the earphones then you can't charge your phone at the same time...
I love HTC and a diehard fan. This design on the U12+ is probably one of the best they've did since the original HTC One M7.
But.... wtf HTC;
1. no wireless charging - seriously how much would that cost
2. the BEST designed buttons but its haptic?? - man if only it was real buttons!
3. no 3.5mm adapter - wwwhhhyyy???
4. Ugly FOC hard plastic case - the previous soft TPU in HTC U11+ was great
5. The price is too damn high
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2018Hope U13 learns the past mistakes of U12+, U11+, U11 and PUT BACK the 3.5mm headphone jack. Al... moreNo, don't bring back the jack. Their USonic is the key to make USB-C a viable end all be all replacement for the 3.5mm jack. They're only a few steps away to perfect all of that and that'll be one of the ultimate innovations we don't want but deserve.
