The Adreno 630 has 128 ALU cores for calculating the graphical signal which is then rendered by the shader core. There are two physical processor cores, totalling 256 ALU cores. The graphics processor does not use the device's LPDDR4 RAM exclusively, as it has its own 1024KB dedicated cache (very fast, volatile, and very expensive). The gpu (or as Qualcomm calls it the Visual Processing Unit) is rated for ~15.4GT/s texture rendering and roughly ~748 G/Flops performance. Though that is at the the maximum 710MHz frequency. It is software-capped at 710MHz, but it can be unlocked via a custom kernel (and/or driver), and it is reasonable to push it close to 900MHz for above 1TFLOP performance which won't drain battery as much as you would expect but it would generate too much heat for a phone (but reasonable for a tablet). The device usually sits around the low 100-150MHz range during regular use, and when playing a visually intensive game (eg Shadowngun Legends) it usually sits around ~500MHz.

That's more information than you could produce.

Kangal, 21 Jul 2018So you openly admit you know less than I...the only thing I know about Kirin 970 GPU's are that, as Huawei or HiSilicon never disclose much of their iGPU (at least in English documentation). But, I never claim I do not know how many iGPU cores Adreno 630 has, I do actually, with evidence. I did not tell you because it's my main question, which you didn't answer just yet. For someone from this industry, you do knows a lot /s

Qualcomm offers different pricing to different OEMs depending on their reputation and order size. However, currently the QSD 845 is retailing for as low as USD $36 and as high as a USD $52.

It'd be cool if you guys did a benchmark comparison between these top-midrangers and older, still purchasable flagships. When I looked at the old benchmarks, it is plenty more powerful than the Galaxy S7 that most people would take instead because of it's top-tier (dated) flagship processor.

I don't think your reading comprehension is that well, I was complaining about how Qualcomm obfuscates their products and mixes the pricing. The list I put was just an example, hence why I used the words "something LIKE this".

And I know Qualcomm doesn't use ARM's Trondheim GPUs, they use (a new variant) of AMD's old Radeon Mobile GPU's. The example of the "500MHz GPU MP4" was more of a build up on the G72-platform... however, I only used that as an example to make my point. I for one think the Adreno GPU's are great... they're much smaller and more efficient than the competitors' solutions.
