This stuff exists since Opera days, it's not something new.
Almost all browsers nowadays have these options by default. You get continuity if you want to - open a tab on your phone and continue later on your computer or open it on your computer and continue on your phone.
You haven't tried to do these things on other browsers, so you don't even know these are common features.
But even if chrome was the only one to do this, it would still be the worst choice as a browser. I would gladly enter my login details manually, on all services that I use, each time I have to use them, instead of having them being done automatically at the cost of allowing google to track me.

To get all the functionality I use with chrome across platforms by downloading a small package and logging in I would need to use multiple plugins / add-ons that send just as much or more info to other parties with less benefit as well as taking longer to set up and log into each time you need to access their respective services / info from a new machine. Bookmark sync, password management, remote desktop just to name a few.

One must be a true google sheep to still use chrome nowadays. All the spying, tracking, and the data mining and analysing that google is doing, makes chrome a horrible piece of software.
Well... horrible for its users, but great for google.
xXENDER FREAKXx, 15 Jul 2018Damn that looks good, but somehow it looks a little like the old Mozilla FireFox interface, thoughEXACTLY!!!
The old design was both functional and looked decent - there was no valid reason to change something that worked just fine.
xXENDER FREAKXx, 15 Jul 2018Damn that looks good, but somehow it looks a little like the old Mozilla FireFox interface, thoughRight on.. this is like 99% Firefox from the old days. Google could've done a far better job..
parallelogram? :P
On the address bar go to chrome://flags; then under UI layout choose normal to return to the exiting space conscious UI.
Get the new chrome: a Firefox without privacy options.
I switched to FF for privacy +Vivaldi to use chrome apps. My CPU is happy, my RAM is happy, I'm happy :)
xXENDER FREAKXx, 15 Jul 2018Damn that looks good, but somehow it looks a little like the old Mozilla FireFox interface, thoughWhich was great and they absolutely didn't have the change to the (retarded default) of huge blank space around the address bar.
The design is amazing and much needed by Chrome, but I don’t recommend it if you use chrome as your main browser, it’s a bit sluggish
Avishek, 15 Jul 2018*Now takes 2 more extra gigs to run.Kill process or wait? :P

Looks cool.
These day they've been lazily making "Material Design 2" for being not materialish look.... no shades, with that bad simplistic flat looks....

I hope the new "Omnibar", which was apparently made first on Samsung Internet Browser v7.2 Beta in March, also blends in with the top bar to make something cleaner looking.
If you don't see what I mean, you should try the browser just so you see its behavior. It's on the Play Store and available on most Android phones, even non-Samsung
