That is why the cameras are located in the centre of the back, where the phone is the thickest. That affected the placement of the fingerprint sensor, too.
Anon.D, 18 Jul 2018I'd rather have a notched display than having a phone without a headphone jack. A phone without HJ is a phone with a bigger battery. Check out the people complaining about the Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ battery stamina. You can live without the HJ, with that dongle. And the digital sound through USB-c, if done right, is way better than the sound coming through the HJ

I like to listen to live FM radio. Yes, I can use an App to listen to internet radio, but they cook my phone and drain my battery. Internet radio keeps cutting out. It it great to listen to the latest music track, or news and phone-in radio shows....
If you happen to be in the countryside, with no mobile / data signal. Internet radio is useless. It is great to listen to a local live FM radio station and keep in touch with the world.
I also need a headphone jack to get music in my car. Connecting via USB drains my battery power....

I don't use wireless, because I am worried about radio emissions frying my brain. Wireless is everywhere, but no one knows the real risk. I don't want to find out 20 years later, that these things are dangerous. It is all about damage to human body cells.
We use bluetooth keyboard, bluetooth mouse, Wi-fi signals, mobile phone signal... Whilst the risks are low, but add them all up and over time, you could end up with a serious problem.
Anonymous, 19 Jul 2018No. I will never buy a phone without a headphone jack.Never, eh...? Do you really think that in 20 years, we will still have a phone with a headphone jack? Even when Samsung AND LG are going to ditch it sooner or later. People are adapting to that lifestyle, I'm even using a wireless pair of headphones, and my phone is a couple of years old and surprise... has a headphone jack. I never untangle my headphones since I switched, and that saves me a lot of time, just put them in my ears, turn on bluetooth, and Voila! I'm connected! Trust me, I thought that removal of the headphone jack on the iPhone was total BS, but then I realized maybe it is the way of the future. I'm not calling you names, or anything, but you (and everyone else) just need to accept that the headphone jack is going to heaven.
Anonymous, 19 Jul 2018No. I will never buy a phone without a headphone jack. You need to buy cheaper midrange phones then. Sony or other brands. You'll have to tolerate the poorer build quality, a lack of 'vanity features' e.g. wireless charging, waterproofing, an inferior camera and a slower chip.
Or get a Samsung flagship phone.
For some reason, the headphone jack and FM radio are considered to be 'poor man's features', so expensive phones don't get them. The cheap phones, especially for the poor people in developing countries, get the headphone jack and FM radio.
This is blatant discrimination.
marko97sx, 19 Jul 2018lol jack chill. Still, the headphone jack needs to go.No. I will never buy a phone without a headphone jack.

And already there isn't a lot of people buying Sony phones, Sony is struggling just like LG and HTC. A 6-month release cycle makes things worse.
@Anon
Headphone jack is not coming back with the new 'Ambient Flow' design since XZ2. It's not even a Sony thing: the entire industry (except Samsung for now) seems to be removing the headphone jack in their flagship phones.
The headphone jack is seen to be a 'poor man's feature', similar to FM radio. You'll only find it only in the cheaper phones. Rich people can afford to stream music and buy an 2-in-1 adapter to charge and listen to music at the same time. This is the unfortunate reality.
There are some Sony Mobile Tro**s (Including one user who blindly supports Sony Mobile BS statement on dropping of headphone jack) in the comment section below. Alright, other brand (ANDROID) users, go and bash them as hard as you can with your PRO-headphone jack TRUTHS.
I'm in with Sony
if its new chipset, ill take it...if not, my xz2 still my best daily driver till next year

I've never had headphones in my phone while it was charging.
