Even if foxconn does pay hmd's r&d, which I've seen no evidence of, that still does not mean ownership. You do get that, right?
As for where hmd's money came from, it's called "investment" and can be done by anyone from all around the world, not just Chinese, and it would still have nothing to do with ownership.

First of all Foxconn is not a Investment company , There are a lot of companies whose main business is investing in startups like Berkshire Hathaway , AXA , Softbank Etc.
Secondly there are banks that lend loans and bonds to startups .
Then there are Start-up Launch Platforms , Angel Networks , Crowdfunding , Incubators & Accelerators , Private Equity Firms , Private Investors and Billionaires etc etc.
The Lead investors in HMD are Jean-Francois Baril and Dominique Pitteloud Based In Switzerland.

If, and when that happend and HMD become at least in top 10 world wide, then you can write something. Is not my fault for your nonsenses. Just buy better phone, it's time. Samsung S9 + is still good phone.

Foxconn only pays to HMD Global (Finland) to licencing and using Nokia (Microsoft) Nokia patents for those new age Nokias. I hope that you understand better now. Like i wrote, HMD is startup company (only 500 emp), some of them are from old Nokia there, but thats it. I just hope that those new Nokias, flagship Nokias will have at least same photo camera quality like some of Lumias from the past. Then, maybe, but this X5, Mediatek? No thanks. At least X6 have SD636 for similar price..

Their Agenda is to prove Nokia Chinese cause they want to buy Nokia Phones at Xiaomi Pricing ,They don't understand the Cost of Premium Build and Materials , They don't understand the Cost of Long term Software support and Updates , Finally they don't understand the concept of ODM / Contract Manufacturing.
Foxconn isn't a charity that they will pump money into a Brand without any public announcement or claim of ownership they are a business after all.
Until and unless there is Factual proof that Foxconn owns or is financing major part of HMDs operation , spreading fake news makes no sense.

Back of the phone is classic Nokia [HMD] , Front [Notch] is not a copy or an inspiration , It's just a market trend for 2017-18 , Due to the lack of Technology and the Expense of creating Full Screen phones the notch is being used as a substitute to reduce Bezels.
In future we won't have any difference in the front facia of the phone once all brands adopt bezeless Screens , The only difference would be at to back and the Curvature of the screen.

Yes, x5 and x6 look like other Chinese phones but that's just two models among many. The other Nokia models have very little in common with Lumia phones. They are mostly made of metal and their design language is quite unique. Have you even looked closely at 7 plus and 6.1?

Like at least, 50 Huawei, and Honor phones with notch and back glass from 2018 and in that price segment, so nothing new here. Other Nokia phones, use design from Lumias, or older Nokias.. But All of those OEM with that models of smartphones comes to idea from iPhone 10, just it's popular brend world wide (if you look at sales, iPhone is still number one).
