I don't think we will soon get a glass that is shatter proof. Oh well, to me, shatter proof means no harm when I drop my phone on a rough stony surface. Now, if someone demands no harm when an SUV runs on a smartphone, it's a different story. A completely scratch proof phone will be great as we don't have to install any screen guard anymore.
Gorilla glass 3 still more scratch proof than Gorilla glass 5! I would rather have a more scratch resistance screen than shutter proof because I rarely or even don't drop my phone.

Geric.770, 19 Jul 2018Another method? He's the ultimate gadget killer! What Zack does is extreme. There is no comparison between a drop and extreme level of penetration. It is far different.
Anonymous, 19 Jul 2018They say this every time when they release a new glass generation. Usual marketing BS.Agreed 100%. Glass is naturally strong and resistant to compression and compressive forces. The improved compressive resistance of gorilla glass 6 is meaningless and does not add any significant protection against screen fractures and breakage. If any significant improvement in screen protection is desired, it should focus on increased tensile strength resistance because glass is very weak in resisting tensile stresses.
The main thing is scratch resistance, which is more necessary than shatter resistance. That's the whole point of Sapphire.
I hope that GG7 will make the screen to be resistant for over 30 times of falling before breaking
But will this version be more resistant to scratches like corning G4 was...who knows..
Geric.770, 19 Jul 2018Another Gorilla Glass... More resistant to damage? Lol. The statement from JerryRigEverythi... moreMore resistant to damage does not imply impervious to damage. I think you lack reading comprehension.
Nice! I don't buy a phone unless it has Corning Gorilla glass, very happy to see a 6th generation.
rizki1, 19 Jul 2018Jerryrigeverityng is another method to break the glass not drop it.. ok?Another method?

Luxor, 19 Jul 2018Finally drop resistant. Took Corning long enough. Will it be more scratch proof? That is also ... moreThey say this every time when they release a new glass generation. Usual marketing BS.
Still we have to go for extra protection like tempered glass and a hard case ,it's just name sake when it comes to gorilla corning glass
Finally drop resistant. Took Corning long enough. Will it be more scratch proof? That is also important.
