I don't think we will soon get a glass that is shatter proof. Oh well, to me, shatter proof means no harm when I drop my phone on a rough stony surface. Now, if someone demands no harm when an SUV runs on a smartphone, it's a different story. A completely scratch proof phone will be great as we don't have to install any screen guard anymore.

Gorilla glass 3 still more scratch proof than Gorilla glass 5! I would rather have a more scratch resistance screen than shutter proof because I rarely or even don't drop my phone.

The improved compressive resistance of gorilla glass 6 is meaningless and does not add any significant protection against screen fractures and breakage. If any significant improvement in screen protection is desired, it should focus on increased tensile strength resistance because glass is very weak in resisting tensile stresses.

Still we have to go for extra protection like tempered glass and a hard case ,it's just name sake when it comes to gorilla corning glass
