The oneplus x came out when oneplus was still new and I think the oneplus 2(?) was out. It was still a fresh brand. They truly broke through from the oneplus 3 onwards. Their brand is much more widely known which is why the headphones did so well. If they release a cheap oneplus x it will sell way more than the last one.
I returned the OnePlus X after 1 week due to major software bugs, like microphone not working in certain apps. Horrible.

Unfortunately with all the notch hate I reckon bezels will make a return that would be a shame as they are useless spaces. At least with the notch you can use the horns. If only tech sites/enthusiasts toned down the notch hate we would be living in a tiny better world...
bigger battery (5000 mAh)
or have 2 version, one with 5000 mAh battery.
Removing the notch and bringing back the X series will be a huge comeback for OnePlus.
Robbie, 19 Jul 2018You'll have difficulty selling a 5.2" screen phone in the current marketThere are many people who look for a compact phone with VERY decent specs
I think that it looked way worse on the images than in real life. And BTW, it‘s called ten not ex /jk
Luxor, 19 Jul 2018Oppo Find X. Rebrand as Oneplus X2. They could do that. Yes. OnePlus X2 with SD710 and 4/64GB memory. 5.5" 18:9 panel. Half the price of OnePlus 6 and it will be a great buy. Sadly they will not do this :(

It didn't do so well maybe because it was an iphone copy design like all the other chinese brands were doing at that moment - huawei for example with p8 and the much more cheeper p8 lite.
Yes it had much better specs but the price ...
And I don't see many carriers that have or will have oneplus in their offers like huawei had / has.
In my country they are still not present officially yet so ...
All these things ad up. You've got to invest in expanding your market and not expect to sell smartphones only on the internet delivering them from china and the customers having to wait for 3 weeks for the delivery and to deal with the customs fees.
Pete Lau? what happened to Carl Pei?
i considered the OnePlus X as an option last time i bought a phone, but didn't buy it because it just wasn't available anywhere and importing one would've increased the price too much. guess i'm lucky if they really stopped supporting it so soon.
so what this sounds like is, a young company without much of a track record and limited market presence that advertised its phones as flagship killers made their first upper midranger, didn't sell as much as they wanted and then completely abandoned the device, probably disappointing many who decided to trust them and bought one.
maybe it was too early at the time for various reasons, but i think they could succeed now if they really tried and offered something fresh. though i also understand if they want to focus on high end devices if that means longer support periods. i think they promised 2 years of major updates and another year thereafter of security patches?
Was that even a surprise?
Arvind7955, 19 Jul 2018Launch its successor. Pretty please.Oppo Find X. Rebrand as Oneplus X2. They could do that.
Well, at that time OnePlus would also fail miserably if they priced their flagship over 500 Eur./USD. If the market changed to a point in which that no longer is true, why couldn't it also change to a point where the successor of the X would be successful?
Well sure if you dump the support etc. after 6months and force it to be one. You sirely p*ss off all the customers.
