You're not making any sense.
TSMC is now the largest foundry, and they are a business so they value profits. Its perfectly natural to expect them to sell their products to the highest bidder. And the highest bidder this time was products going to ARM SoC's followed by the cryptocurrency-mining "niche".
Therefore the problems of 2017-2018 was gamers. It's their fault for not keeping the PC Gaming Industry healthy. They abandoned alternate parts such as AMD cpus, Radeon gpus, Micron ssds... for a monopoly in Intel cpus, Nvidia gpus, Samsung ssds. Why do you think the price of the average PS4/XB1 went down during this period... whereas the price of the average Gaming PC went up? The simple answer is that the Console Market is far more mature/healthier so it wasn't impacted.
If people weren't so naive, there would be more competition in the PC Gaming Industry... then the average price would've been more stable this past 24 months.
