Jst push a app on playstore and then read the crash statistics for Samsung v/s Xiaomi . . . xiaomi crashes 100 times more . . however as long as people are paying less they are ok to forgive Xiaomi even if the hardware is cheap (which u wud know after 1 year of usage), or if the device crashes . . but we can blame people . . .
money is more imp than quality in India . . .

Samsung is taking advantage of its name in India. Mid range phones of Samsung are absolutely rubbish

Samsung, OPPO VIVO will remain amongst preferred makes simply because of one thing - availability of service centres. In India somehow crowd thinks service centre as a mark of quality ( reality is not so). All three of them have service centres at every nook and corner. Plus OPPO VIVO latest glossy offerings of notchless phones will prove how good they are in market.

Xiaomi on other hand will continue due to it's affordable offerings and these days it is also establishing brick and mortar stores with service facilities.

Merwyn Fernandes, 19 Jul 2018The only reason why Xiaomi sells is because they are cheap.WRONG. Xiaomi sells more than Samsung because for the same price as the Samsung model, you can get a Xiaomi phone with vastly better specs and features and higher quality. Take for instance the overpriced Samsung J7 series. Xiaomi's Redmi phones offer better specs and quality for so much less. Or you can go with upper midrange to flagship Xiaomi's instead of the J7.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2018You can look at it two ways: Either Xiaomi phones are cheap or that Xiaomi just have the best ... moreProbably the first. I mean many people there don't have too much money, so being 50 dollars more expensive can be a deal-breaker.

Xiaomi sells cheaper and better phones, while Samsung is struggling on pricing their midrange phones.
So yeah, Xiaomi will still reign the Indian market.

Baristas who got tired of working at the local coffee shop and decided to go put numbers in neat box shapes on the computer screen. Don't expect them to do numbers great. I mean, they can't even spell your name right, right? :)

I haven't seen ... moreBut where they going to ship if no one would need their phones? Most of the time retailers can't return them, so Samsung can't ship whatever they want.

There are MUCH cheaper little know Chinese brands out there that offer international versions of their smartphones. The reason for Xiaomi success is not only that they are cheap but the fact they offer great value for money. They meet certain level of quality while still being very cheap.

These numbers don't mean anything at all! These are mere shipments, not sales. I haven't seen any slowdown for Xiaomi or pace picking up for Samsung in recent months.
Infact if anything, Samsung sales have slowed down even more.
Just by shipping more units, Samsung is trying to create a fake hype that they have recovered the lost ground, which isn't true.
