biki, 05 Oct 2011r u sayin MERCEDES should sue every other motorcar company becoz thy made the 1st car?...by th... moreMercedes didn't patent the 4 stroke engine, as such anyone was able to re-create it.
It's the creators choice if he/she wishes to patent or allow everyone to recreate with the intent of improving, thus benefiting the consumer.

If Apple loses this one, this will be another 600m USD + 1% royalty on all iphones sold like their settlement with Nokia.

Don't be surprised if iphones are very expensive. You pay for all the licensing Apple made with other telecom companies.

me, 05 Oct 2011i like how when apple sue its childish and oh so terrible but when samsung do it its ok hahaha... moreapple patents are for non-technical things like round icons. whereas the suits against apple are about apple using many years of technical improvements in radio communication that are required for cellular networks to function as they do today. Apple is trying to use decades of other companies R&D for free. The Iphone 4 antenna issues show how little technical knowledge Apple has with regard to mobile radio technology.

Until Apple arrived on the scene, mobile phone manufactures were able to manage there IP rights via licensing deals without entering the public limelight. Apple doesn't seem to want to pursue this lower cost approach to disagreement resolution. xman
