Just remove the front camera, it’s such a simple and cheap solution
Why should I have to have a notch or “camera hole” because some people want to take stupid photos of themselves

If the phone could flip from the back outward you could get a super tall display too, 38:9 aspect ratio is the new future :p

Or even under screen cameras if that is possible. Both of these would be another solution

The final solution is a smaller, lower res, lower power display on the back (maybe epaper-like). Whose only purpose is as a selfie viewfinder (unless power consumption is low enough for always on use).

Then you only need one camera, the main one.

Furthermore, who actually needs a fingerprint scanner, whether built into the screen or otherwise? An NFC ring would be a great "biometric" alternative.

I doubt the overall BOM would be much different, phones could be completely bezelless, more reliable (popup cameras?? No thanks!), and easier to use.

Am i the only one bothered by the fact they are just killing smartphones as media consumption devices?
            Notches kills any videos.
All videos are 16:9, but they are doing 18:9 or higher, essentially killing half the screen when watching videos, just for the sake of having more inches in their advertisement.
One of the greatest smartphone features of all time is to be able to watch videos, clips and movies in a portable device, and they are essentially killing this feature. I guess most people uses their device for facebook and whatsapp nowadays and don’t care about media content.

I'm happy manufacturers are trying new things and differentiating their models. Smartphone design had been so stagnant for so long. Notches? Sure. Holes? Why not. Pop-ups? Worth a shot. Rotating lens or reflector? Yes please! Same-old-bezeled-slab? Keep those coming too. 'Gamer' phones? Fugly and welcome!

Why not move it to the right or left side. Seems worse in the middle.. at least move it to and edge so you can get the most from video play back and viewing pictures..
