Anonymous, 21 Jul 2018Because its better and has advanced privacy? How do you know?

Google is much better as an ecosystem. It has millions of apps in the store, Smartwatch OS, Android TV, Android Auto, Home integration...
And what Samsung has? limping not developed OS with a limited TV and Watches integration... So Nothing...

Maybe in 5-10 years with aggressive development and advertisement Tizen can be popular enough to compete with Google...

Samsung already has redundant apps err I mean they have their own Galaxy App store and built in applications that sometimes are even better than Googles.

Instead of thinking about new numbers they should concentrate on improving their low and midrange phones, their new J and A series are terrible...they are getting crushed by Huawei

It may be the best time to come out with Tizen, looking at how ZTE got ban, new device categories are coming, new W10 pocket-able surface start to surface(of course bringing apps also from the start), so may some chinese brand/s to have an alternative to android. And still may not be so bad with some apps already made for watch,...
If its about double digits, its more like exciting than being weird, why being confused. Its clearly huawei's and p20's ''fault''.
I just wish there was less confusing way to name devices like [Name] [Year], example - Note 18 or Note 2018. They change numbers after 9, miss some(4/6) anyway, nothing more confusing for ordinary user. Most people will remember just Lumia, Galaxy, Xperia. Just ask someone what kind of device they got, will they say whole letter/number thing?
                        ThinQ yourself...

Hmm tizen is in the works.. I mean they use it for there gear where , just a matter of time before they do a Apple and Ditch the rest. I get the feeling they will try it with low to mid range devices to see how it goes get developers to start making apps for it before they throw it on there high end devices. Also it's a pretty close copy to android in terms of use ability and they have already build a system to use some android apps on the tizen system and that was back in 2014

Or because they want to provide their own services instead (a la Apple).

Google is turning out to be a company that doesn't shy away from the most despicable ways to profit. For instance help nazism flourish for ad views. Who's to say that all other companies are okay with that business model?
