Back then, Snapdragon 801 was already "fast... morenot all people are gamers you know that right? in fact 90% are not..and smartphone gamers are even fewer...I mean hardcore gamers that need "all that power your talking about" not to play candy crash or others.
and please, if you are a hardcore gamer, there are devices for that...not flagships phones...the target are not gamers. and if you are a hard core gamer in a smartphone..get a life...

Kiyasuriin, 23 Jul 2018As a gamer. you need all the power you can have. as well as when composing music. as a gamer...you will not waste your time in a 5.5" device period. you will waste it in a 24"/32" display with +144hz, mecanic keyboard, good headphones, even better mouse. if you do..your not a gamer..you are a gameaholic.

What a load of bull. First of all the cortex a77 has not been announced yet,if you're talking about the latest cortex series core that arm announced,then that would be the cortex a77 which was announced a few weeks back. The cortex a77 does not exist and hasn't even been shown to the public in any way at the moment.

Obviously fake news, the next chip is a76 and it will still be Mali. But definitely coming at ifa they said that at the nova 3 launch.

Either one of two things:
1. Huawei already got their hands on Cortex-A77 tech before anyone else and will use it on their SoCs. This one sounds unlikely, but heck, anything can happen on the world of tech.
2. They just made a typo and it's actually Cortex-A76. They forgot to proofread and didn't realize their Booboo. This one sounds like more realistic scenario.
Hopefully, it'll be faster than SD845. Can't wait to see it on their Mate 10 and P30 series. Although I'm still on the fence whether I'll be picking up the Pixel 3 (the 5.4" one) or the P30 (if they release it).
Just one question: Did the Cortex-A76 and the A-55 fix those SoC issues namely Meltdown and Spectre?
