What is the selling point for 1000 samsung? The pen? Who uses it often? The curved screen? We are not ET! The idea is too stupid. Samsung phones for example are expensive, yes, but they always bring the latest and greatest tech available and usually give you the impression that your money were well spent.
Other companies (won't point fingers but you probably know some) price their phones high just because it's a good trend and it works well for their profits, but when you compare their phones side by side with the best out there you see that they aren't quite there in terms of technology (inferior screens/poor battery life etc), or simply make some stupid decisions that nobody asked for : non expandable storage, removing the headphone jack, notch are just at the top of my head.

I actually received a software/ security up... moreMan having 1 or 2 updates over a course of 3 years is really bad from company like samsung.
For example Nokia releasess updates very often like every month and immediately as is available they put new OS into their phones.
Compared to that Samsung is Nonpremium company with a bad reliability.

I forgot to mention that my friend has just upgraded from his S3 mini from 2012.
I helped him get a replacement battery, so he can still use it as a backup.

I actually received a software/ security update today, which was nice :)
I actually ordered the S9+ from my carrier, but they messed up & didn't honour the negotiated price, I'm still gonna get it though.

There are companies who price their phones reasonably, like Xiaomi or OnePlus and there are companies who price their phones way higher than what what could be considered a reasonable profit like Apple.
Yes, a OnePlus or Mi phone cost less to produce than the latest Iphone or Galaxy but the difference is much smaller than the profit difference.

It is overpriced and so is samsung, apple, and the other $1000 handsets but the difference is, these limited edition phones are pricey because of their brand name in this case porsche design, they are more for the minority of device owners who want this so called high end branding, either way both are over the top

Like its some premium brand. All they offer are average phones for a price of a super premium flagship.
But when comes to quality Samsung phones lasts only as long as your warranty then they dies like any other non premium brand such as HTC r Sony.
