People say samsung has terrible updates sure their os update was slow but we had 90% of the features of 8.0 on 7.0 even....soooo....idk i feel as if googles just playing catchup
But ever since january ior feb ice regularly recieved that months security patch on the 3rd or 2nd week of the month already running on july
And ive an s8 a two almost 3 year old device so i wont call their support weak by any means
Their os is not as smooth as googles yet but its leaps better then lagwiz i freaking hated that even...but for once i havnt thrown a launcher on it cause its just as good it still drops frames once or twice a day under hella heavy load but it keeps getting better .-.

Adreno GPU's are about 3-generations ahead of the GPU's found in the Exynos chips, and still 2-generations ahead of Apple's new Custom GPU. They're simply much smaller, cost much cheaper, are much faster, and use less battery power.
The competition may catch up to them in one field, or even surpass them. However, they're behind overall because of the other characteristics. As always, competition is a great thing.

kurkosdr, 24 Jul 2018Yeah I am sure Samsung would take your advice of selling stock Android phones at cost (or near... moreI think Samsung used to have S line-ups and Note line-ups with stock version, but those stock versions did not last long, when they found out clearly that not many people wants stock Android( not because it is bad, but because it got no distinct selling points). Then, they've found a clear solution that they need to work on and keep working on, which is to make their OS as smooth as possible no matter how many layers/customizations/features they put and to roll out updates faster, which I can see them both now on Samsung experience and updates rolling out way faster than even Huawei flagship phones!
P.S- Trust me, some haters would shout out to their beyond of limit and called their features, gimmicks yet that is their main selling points and it is going strong till now, so yeah!

To avoid comparing producta with the same hardware but cheaper price from other manufacturers they make their own chips and gpu, tweek some software and cheat some benchmarks and het bigger profit margims.
Hiawei made their own kirin chips and many of the people who by them things they are the best chips around. Now they also want to make their own gpu.
So why not samsung follow the same trend.

Its hard to win over fans using cheaper hw, they got to aim for same price in that same for R&D, then bit of lower/higher price based on capabilities.
And they are capable of a lot of things... all centric...(flagships)
