Asad, 25 Jul 2018New Material design looks way better than before. i hope it would be stable for low end phones... moreLooks like bad news for large phones (lots of wasted space) especially the OLED ones (too much white = more battery drain).
Wait this just made the whole material design ideology useless. I mean if everything will be white then there won't be a need for devs to turn their apps to look like native apps. Farewell material design, most Chinese phone companies never implemented you anyway.
Putting the action bar at the bottom of the page is logical and copied from BlackBerry 10 OS (which was introduced in 2013). It took 5 years to imitate. Well done Google.
Walter C. Dornez, 25 Jul 2018Especially after Oreo, Android looks fantastic Sadly no oreo for me
Look so iOS with rounded corners and white everywhere
Maybe it automatically turns to dark theme when the user is in dark environment.
Amazing software job from google!!!!
all blinding white UI, like the next door neighbor
faceless, 25 Jul 2018This is the most matured, professional and modern design yet. Android will never look amateuri... morebut other people need to use these guideline. Other companies like samsung copies ios-ish look in android which is most irritating.
hope samsung adapt material design - they just imitate ios and make blur here and there which sucks. (note 8 user)
White theme is designed only for old ppl
New Android GUI.
Same bland ugliness.
Too much white. White theme everywhere. I need dark theme. Dont hurt my eyes please, Google.
It's colorful. . .
. . .yet colorless at the same time.
More pointless change for change sake, just to make people relearn the user interface they are already familiar with.
Glad im oneplus user and it has black theme... White google theme just burns my eyes at night
This is a downgrade from the original Material Design. Now Google will be on par with iOS. Not a leader anymore.
Google's design, "it will burn your screen and your pupils" (TM)
LG Superfan, 25 Jul 2018Android looks mature since lollipop or first material designEspecially after Oreo, Android looks fantastic
If there isn't a dark UI at this point, I'm not updating.
