Many tinkerers love to hate the Samsung stuff install custom ROMS and make great use of the fantastic hardware. I don't do tinkering now a days and Stockwise not so happy with the battery. As such, I might go with the note 9 exchanging the gs9 plus.

Slowly some people are starting to learn to buy flagship phones every 2-3 years rather than every year....... Since it's a totally waste of $$$$$ to buy phones every year.....

That's so much less than what I used to get in my oneplus 5T phone on same settings, apps, syncs.

Any idea how RAM management works in android? - RAM cleaning does more harm then doing any help to the system across the board.
Any idea whether latest android versions need antivirus or not?
Have you ever tried studying how Doze works- in putting apps into sleep for example? definitely you have no idea.
Device maintenance is sitting out there for no reason Its just an additional app unnecessarily sitting there mimicking to be super cool and eating up resources and crippling the OS and doing nothing at max.
Go, study a bit kid and then discuss when you are fit enough.

make note series less edgy, bigger battery, better camera and include IR blaster. its flagship device with premium price tag.
and I agree on merging S and Note series, most of us would stick to either Note or S series, reason Samsung is facing low sales because of why people would buy Note device after 6 month of buying S+ model or vice versa.

Screen appears a little flatter, battery is around 21% larger, s pen is more feature rich. Camera is improved. That battery leap is a big one, the S9/+ couldn't manage an increase.

Samsung abandoning bloat-wares in future? That works at snail's pace.
Abandoning features? they won't see the light of day soon. It's practically increased with the inclusion of bixby, bixby vision (in camera) and more to come in future. All they did was to make the user interface lighter and still so much to be done.
AOSP based roms show batterypower almost instantly like in a day or two after the smartphone is setup. So there is a craze for such roms and debloaters for gs9,gs9+, note 8 and so on as no matter which debloater/service/package disablers used, you entirely cant get rid of and some service disablers no more work as samsung hate them.

They want to keep the momentum in user engagement before it is too late, by doing the exact same thing that is the cause of the poor Galaxy S9 sales? Funny!

Its just your imagination 100% based on the operating system getting settled down with the apps and settings that gives better batterylife than it gives just after setting it up after first 4,5 days or a week. This has been happening post every month's update. Exactly the same happened with the s8/s8+ and note 8.
All the smartphone reviewers agree that battery isnt very good with the s9 and s9+ including gsmarea's re-test with latest updates:

Somebody might argue that July update "fixed" it or gave more batterylife etc etc. but thats not the case as the same guys have been from the very first update post every month's update saying that its fixed its fixed its fixed. (some are in xda, reddit)
Just compare with other flagships u will be amazed at how batterylife of other top tier phones have been.

Arie777, 25 Jul 2018Agree. Samsung need more creativity. To be fair, they always do this. 2 generations of the same design, the second one being a completed version of the first. If yall want a different design, then wait till the S10. That won't still change the fact that the S9 is still a great phones, and Note 9 will be an improved Note 8.

Gotta add better innovations to justify buying every new release. Breakable backs and edge screens as well as heavily glued components may no longer cut it.
