RejZoR, 26 Jul 2018You may not shatter it, but plastic will get scratched by just looking at it from wrong angle.... morenever heard of tempered glass before? if it get broken, you just peel it and slap a new one. no need for professional
built in plastic screen with bonus original tempered glass bundled inside the box ... thank you
We don't NEED unbreakable screens Samsung! We need and want unscratchable screens!
Nothing new. Plastic covered amoled was succesfuly tested in Motorola Force devices since 2015. Plastic is not scrach resistant at all that is fact.
So Samsung is going from being eco friendly to more plastic what a shame
This plastic probably scratches. But at least if the panel itself wont break, it is possible to use a glass screen protector to protect it against scratches, and simply replace that when it breaks.
With glass panels, no matter what protector is on it, if it breaks upon dropping, the display is destroyed.
Anonymous, 26 Jul 2018This is just a marketing advertisement for their bendable phone. That can't use glass. The pla... moreWhy would the OLEDs break? There are more than enough videos on YouTube about plastic OLED displays being flexed while turned on.
Unbreakable doesnt exist its a normal glass disguised as special one so the samsung can take much more money from customers.
And thest werent real.
JRE will prove real tests.
Barricade, 26 Jul 2018All flexible OLEDs have a flexible substrate, which usually is plastic. This however isn't abo... moreI thought it was like this, buttom to top:
Substrate; cover material; phone glass.
I'll have to recheck my info.
I put on a protective plastic/glass on all of my phones to reduce micro scratches. Some even come with an oleophobic coating
ya sure plastic is durable but it gets scratched really easily and thats the problem
Haha...really Samsung, a glass that won't break? How about I smash it with a good hammer
Great news, but what about scratching the surface (front and back)? First I need to see and experience it, before believing it.
I would prefer no burn-in OLED....
This is just a marketing advertisement for their bendable phone. That can't use glass. The plastic doesn't break, but how about the oleds below. She doesn't even turn the panels on. Lol
Hopes for an unscratchable screen too, if they can make it...
If they do, it'll bee perfect!
Is the Gorilla Glass dead?
akrazr, 26 Jul 2018As always following Motorola, first copied their lapdock idea and now this what's next ? huh !... moreIt's a flexible unbreakable oled,, Motorolas is flat. Similair ideas executed differently. More inspired then copy as their not identical.
As always following Motorola, first copied their lapdock idea and now this what's next ? huh !
Moto Z2 Force laughs!
This video is retarded. It's like saying bicycle tires are better than race car tires, because they last longer and have smaller friction. How about not offering the same breaking surface? How about stability?
How about scratch proofing that freaking plastic? What solution is there for that?
Plus plastic phones will never have a real quality feel to it. Put this in a Note or the S series and see your sales decline.
Anonymous, 26 Jul 2018We live in 2018 and can't get have a break proof screen C'mon. These stores repair make a kill... moreYou can get one, moto Z force. But then of course you have to sacrifice scratch-resistance. You can only have one of those, but not both, so glass makers have to find a viable balance which is good for the masses
