You're obviously blinded by your fanboy-ism over Apple and Tim Cook. If Steve were alive, he would've kicked out Cook because although Jobs wanted minimalism and simplicity, it should not sacrifice convenience. Jobs would've probably gone berserk if here were alive if he saw that Macbooks no longer have traditional ports and required dongles to get back traditional ports.
Jason, 31 Jul 2018I read about the screen on the iPhone X in how they had to do some crazy bending of the glass ... moreAs the tablet is much larger than the phone the bezels can be much larger, without looking much larger because the screen occupies are much higher percentage of the overall device.
If you took the phones which have small chins and have that width of bezel on a tablet it would look even smaller still, without resorting to bending.
They can bugger off with removing the headphone jack though. Especially for a Pro version.

I read about the screen on the iPhone X in how they had to do some crazy bending of the glass to get it to look full screen. ThatÂ’s a big reason why it cost so much. ThatÂ’s cool for a phone....but an iPad Pro already has a big screen. ItÂ’s unnecessary and will make the cost of buying one even more expensive, because of the bezel less display.
Rounded corners and notch on a tablet? I'll pass.
It's too distracting when reading books, web pages etc. Movies and other content also don't have rounded corners. That is the reason I'll stay with iPhone 8 Plus and classic iPad. And if Apple produce only rounded corners displays in the future I'll switch to android which provide more design options.

That is what fandroid don't get. They are anti future by supporting old dying tech.
There are excellent USB c DACs already. And you actually have a choice there instead of going with whatever the phone was imbued with (or not)
Anonymous, 29 Jul 2018USB C headphones with embedded DAC (of your choice).
3.5mm is deadThe current headphones with embedded dacs are still worse than the 3.5mm jack.. also it means every headset you now buy needs a embedded dac to work unless its inside the phone therefore taking up the space the 3.5mm jack was suppose to save..
Also until usb c is on every pc port and manufactors for headsets swap over to usb c the 3.5mm isnt dead.. to put it bluntly the best wired headsets money can buy have a 3.5mm jack and not usb c with a dac.. untill this changes.. your statement is invalid. I agree it comeing.. but how many years.. 2 , 3 mabye longer

Jobs would do the *exact same thing* as Cook in removing useless ports.
He'd also bully the market to use his standards *immediately*, as he did with the original USB. Do not underestimate how much of an a$$hole Jobs was.
I agree he would smack Cook on the head, but not due to matters of strategy. His strategy closely resembles Jobs' ... After all he worked besides him for years, knew how his mind worked. He would smack him because he lacks assertiveness.
So disagree 100% with those doubting that Jobs was not a minimalist and wouldn't do what Apple is currently doing only more INTENSELY. The man lived in a empty home with a lone lamp as his furniture for years, was only wearing one kind of clothing. Hated fluff like hell. He was minimalism's greatest proponent, IMO why he was so successful too, minimalism works.

You compare different categories of products. The iPad sales are going down because they last long. Longer than a 500 dollar pc. and longer than a Surface.
IÂ’m looking forward to new iPads. However, my iPad Air 2 is working really well on iOS 11 and iOS 12 will be even better (judging from how much better my iPhone 5s is on iOS 12 beta). I wouldnÂ’t justify the purchase of a new device while my current one is still good. One thing is sure I will upgrade to another iPad some day because I canÂ’t be more satisfied with the quality of Apple product.

For that perspective, iOS is the only way to go, because almost all Android phones are too bloated with unnecessary stuff (skins, 100 pre-installed Apps with some manufacturers, ROMs which nobody ever mastered to put on his phone if he doesn‘t have a degree in computer science, and so mich More, and same goes for windows). The closest thing to that simplicity would be a Google Pixel, which has the same value-for-money as iPhones, but gets much fewer software updates, and the software is a big part of the simplicity.
