the pricing is getting out of hand ...well wait few months for the price to drop and with some good offers during christmas (to early to say the c word ) and u got ur self a good bargain..
I'm Indonesian, I think I'll wait for Galaxy Note X / Galaxy Note 10 and definitely skip that boring phone.
Dr. Chillo, 30 Jul 2018Misleading comment. I believe you're a phone manufacturers employee or just have literally no ... moreWell. I do base this on a chart of flagships thst was posted hrere. How much it'd cost. (And I am actually a software engineering manager) and based on a few "How do they do it" shows. ^^;
Great deal! I want that 40 inch TV. But 512GB is too much for me.
I never use storage more than 64GB and it still around 20GB free :/
In Indonesia, the one and only brand that has high price to perform is ASUS. I rather buy 2X ASUS's High end phones rather than buying once SAMSUNG high end phones because is much cheaper, future proof too and of course newer software and hardware because you will buy twice after 3 years software updates from first buy. You can do it on SAMSUNG too but it is will has huge price drop after 3 years.
Kiyasuriin, 30 Jul 2018The phone's manufacture cost is estimated as 370$ (350 if Qualcomm based)(394/374$ if you'll ... moreMisleading comment. I believe you're a phone manufacturers employee or just have literally no idea about this industry. Do you really think they earn maybe 100$ for each phone after all? If your answer is yes you're really naive.
If people stop buying smartphones more than 500-600 bucks then manufacturers can't bump the price to 1k and more. just punish them for their prices and buy other flagships. there are many cheaper flagships like OnePlus 6 and LG G7, Huawei P20, Honor 10, Huawei Mate 10 Pro and more for the retail price between 400 to 600 bucks. This is my opinion, as long as we pay they raise the price. just look at Apple, 400 bucks made iPhone X and they sell it for 1200bucks. just don't buy it and push them to drop their prices.
Aadrian, 30 Jul 2018The Note9 doesn't seem to be an incredible update over the Note8. Not sure if it will sell wel... moreFirst you're on a 2 year contract, it seems that Apple have popularised the yearly update so a customer can have the very latest iPhone.
I am not worried about the state of the market whilst under contract.
People are on different cycles say a contract can be bought on any day, there are 365 days some one is coming off contract, somebody replacing a list or stolen or broken phone
Some manufacturers seem to be releasing a new model every 2 months
The other thing Android is not Apple, some will purchase a 2 year old Apple iPhone which baffles me
Happy to keep a flagship phone for 2 years. In 2 years a mid range phone will have similar specs
Phone now have more storage than the free allowance in my email a/c.
I think Samsung or any manufacturer would like you to update your phone each year, but despite this the flagship SoC is the snapdragon 845.
I personally own an extensive quantity of CDs. all music on my phone is ripped MP
Anonymous, 30 Jul 2018UselessOnly if you buy flagship just to use whatsapp and FB.
PKC, 30 Jul 2018I believe $800 is not cheap also. It's fair value for the current flagship mobiles. Anyway... morethere will be no reduced demand not for the Note 9. I would buy it if I did not own a note 8. So I will get the note 10 for sure.
Vasra, 30 Jul 20181200USD for 512GB? Samsung has gone fully Apple. Allow me to introduce to you myself the ELDERLY Apple iPhone X 256GB with price ONLY US$1,275 and there isn't any bonus here!!!
Luxor, 30 Jul 2018Most people will hold on to their 2017 device. No reason to keep upgrading yearly. Look at Son... moreMe too, I am holding up with the Note8 for another 2 years. I did use the Nokia Lumia 930 for 3 years. No need to upgrade every year.
pkc, 30 Jul 2018You are right in saying the freebies are for promotional period. But after 3 months, the price... moreyes you are right, and also they didnt changed nothing much design from the past model
Anonymous, 30 Jul 2018Why do these phones have to be soooo dang expensive. I want to know what their profit margin is!The phone's manufacture cost is estimated as 370$ (350 if Qualcomm based)(394/374$ if you'll include the pen, tip prying tool and tips)
Quick charger is typically a 29
Earphones are estimated 50-60
Otg is 5, charge dongle is 2.5
Paperwork is 3$
Box and design is 7$
Total: about 500$
Don't forget the quality checks that cost 50$ (according to "How do they do it")
Certifications: 10 each, you'd typically see 9 certifications, so it's a 90)
Shipping is 5
And storing (and tip for the store owner for buying it)
Is usually 5-10, depends on location
We reached a total of 655$ cost
128GB model costs 940$.
Don't forget the cost of advertising it. Giving bonuses to consultants who need to sell the thing.
That would mean about 120$ profit.
What The Shit, 30 Jul 2018Indonesians are Millionaires !!!!! That's because one dollar is equivalent to about 14,500 IDR. ^^;

No reason to keep upgrading yearly. Look at Sony and Oppo with their 6 months cycle on the same series. You willing to update every 6 months?
Anonymous, 30 Jul 2018UselessA total of 1 TB is Useless? When you got beatmaps to make for Osu, storing Other beatmaps and making your own music. 1 TB is quite useful.
Luxor, 30 Jul 2018Wow. Though, I wonder how much is user available space for the 512gb. An OS in 512 GB weighs 50 GB. SO
512-50=462+ the likely amount of storage on a 512 GB SD card, that'd be~ 478 GB.
THAT would mean a total of 960 GB of storage available.
