Brand awareness and build quality are two important factors that real customers consider when buying a new gadget (or everything else). Us vocal minorities may scream at every forum, but in the end the sales report speaks for itself.

Although so far all rumours are pointing to some sort of incremental upgrades, I'm still hoping that the real deal will be better than we currently know! Otherwise, I don't know how it will be worth it to upgrade from a Note8 and even more from an S9 (mostly D +), (obviously for the working class and not for the wealthy). Moreover, with the innovations of the Oppo Find X and vivo NEX S/A. And the other upcoming flagships, such as the Mate 20/Pro, etc. And not even just that, but considering as well that the sales of the S9/+ are definitely not as expected. So definitely and hopefully the Note 9 will be better than all the rumours so far. We'll see...

My only beef with this is that they offer the screen protector as a freebie while other brands have been doing this for ages silently.

Both are ro... moreSamsung 2 years design is only with the S8 and S9, and S6 none edge and S7 none edge. And S6 wasn't a good year for Samsung and S9 is not meeting the S8 sales. So your logic is pretty dumb.
The iPhone is the only phone that gets away using the same design for multiple years. The rest proabably wish they could but always fail

Because looks does not say everything. Once customers test it on the shop, they are completely SOLD.
Poor China clones have to rely on flash sales.. cheap cheap online offers. Because they know full well most customers will just dismissed it if they tested it in the shop. So they prey on the trigger happy online shoppers.

In defend wont you agree all phone does look the same if they come from the same brand. Especially chinese phone.

Anyone think that the rumoured Fortnite tie in is a little odd? Will 10yr olds really be the market this is aimed at? And yes, I know people older than 10yrs play Fortnite, but the Note is priced and specced quite nichey, and towards people on the socioeconimic scale in a very different place to rabid Fortnite players. Crazy tie in. S this aimed at those that need a stylus, and want to get things done, or younger gamers? Seems like they wanted the Note to go against the new gaming phone market leaders, and couldn't offer a proper gaming device in time. So someone came up with the tie in.
