As long as wp works as SMOOTH as it does, dual-core is just a gimmick. Android might need it because of the unoptimized UI, wp does not.

M$ will never make something as good as Android. Android rules, its free and its the best !
I back the corner of Microsoft & Apple when it come to dual core chips. As of yet i cant see why Android is using them. If they had games like infinity blade 2 which is coming maybe, but there is no such games or programmes that push the dual core specs on Android. yes i know that Google will be pushing quad core but is it possible that could actually use it for something. For all the people that dont like Apple & Microsoft what i have seen and i had an iphone 4 for a time is that the OS runs super smooth. I have had an Android phone since the Hero and it lags really badly and is not as smooth.
I am starting to realise that high specs are great but so far with Android are am really starting to ask what is the point there are no great games or application that push it. It just appears to be nerd points which the general public dont care about really. After all this time why is Android not silky smooth.
For WP7 to crush Android or iOs it need to support low end phones first.
Hey i do think WP7 is going in the right direction with everything and IMO will turn out to be a very good OS. I can tell you this, now OR in the near future will WP7 EVER compete with Android or IOS for top OS, or even beat either of the two. Sorry to break the bad news to you son, have a pleasent night.
Hmm, 10 Oct 2011Dream on!

Microsoft on the other hand, will leverage on its experience with XBox and certainly integrate this into the WP7 experience. With quality gaming experiences to be had on both iOS and WP7, how do you think Android will look in comparison?
All it will take is for games to appear on WP7 and iOS first, and the words "coming soon for Android", and that's already your younger market segment gone for Android phones. Seriously, there is only so much tinkering and changing themes you can do for Android before it gets old lol.
Here's what I've summed up. Having a Nokia WP7 phone that has a dual-core CPU is quite welcomed. However I hope they chose the CPU carefully. What I'm concern about is battery life here, they better remember that this is suppose to be a 'mobile' device. The LTE will be quite a drain and... Well, let's just say here's me to hoping the software will well optimized with the hardware itself.

We would love to see Nokia make it, but I doubt it very much. Nokia treats its customers with to much contempt.
You obviously haven't seen this either then:
With competent OEM's like Nokia and Samsung working on the camera it's bound to be something special.
It won't be long before HTC, Samsung and Sony begin to take more notice of WP.
simple user, 10 Oct 2011bad news for you. MS intentionally copied iOS to allow data transfer through iTunes only. That... moreWP7 follows a similar 'philosophy' to iOS, it does not copy it. Apple vs Samsung is more about blatant copying, otherwise Apple would have sued LG, Motorola etc.
It is not about Android, it is more about Samsung's shady practices.
Latest study says that Windows tablets have a higher interest, followed by iOS, and Android is a distant third.
Microsoft has Android squarely in its sights, which is also why it has pursued manufacturers to pay licence fees for every Android phone sold. This has the double effect of actually profiting from Android without having to do any work, at the same time, making WP7 a more appealing alternative for the manufacturers.
That's why I believe, once Nokia launches its first wave of the WP7 assault, the other manufacturers will join in. Won't be so pretty for Android then.

The new Windows Phone sucks. Android is ten times better than it, and looks better too.

tell me then why apple fights with Samsung, not MS (WP7 is copy of iOS, even in drawbacks).
windows will have dual core phones when there will be quad core phones
Winamp is the best music manager, but Zune is great for browsing all kinds of media. I don't even have a WP handset!
IMHO no phone *needs* dual core, but there are always those rare killer apps that will arise if you give devs the power to play with. For now I reckon MS is on the right track: lock down the hardware options to ensure quality and consistent experience across the WP range.
