I'm not saying censorship is good, but if Google has the opportunity to improve their business by entering an uncharted market, I doubt any of the people would actually reject the opportunity.
It would be stupid not to do so. It's not like they're selling children

At least China better than N.Korea. The suppression is not so much felt if they never have such ideas of searching that censored thing. Though, kinda doubt Google popularity in China. Most chinese prefer the chinese search engine literally because they are fully in chinese.

Also every parent has a type of censorship to their children at home. Different family has different value. It's hard to tell which one right and which one wrong. As long as people happy, no drug problem, no rape problem, no homeless problem, and country continue making progress.

I see lot of people from USA talk about freedom and anticensorship, but to ask you one simple question, you live in country that have world biggest class diferences between peoples, rich get richer, poor people get poorer, you even loose middle class in last decade...and there are no REAL protest at all, if some poeople plan and go to protest, they 'vanish' overnight, and you cant find any REAL news all over the internet, or other mass media...isn't that strange?

Don't panic too much.
Google just try to sell a product customized to China. Do you think China will use it as is?? No... They already have one and working fine over there. Google definitely need China market so bad. Google leaving China couple years ago and want to come back. China did not invite them.
Just relax and see what will happen.
