Isn't it obvious? The iPhone X (ten) was a one-off celebration of the iPhone's 10th anniversary. It makes perfect sense to end its one-year run and leave the existing naming scheme unchanged. After all, next year there should be an iPhone 10 range that adheres to the normal product cycle and is unrelated to the limited-run 10th anniversary model.

Since Apple started naming the latest iphone with a letter (iPhone X), the numbered naming has to end. Thus no more iPhone 9 or iPhone 11. Also, a Roman numeral naming (Ex. iPhone XI) is too cumbersome. The best naming convention would be iPhone S, iPhone M and iPhone L for the small, medium and large sizes. It's simplistic and will be easy to differentiate from each other and from all previous models. As a bonus, their successors' names would be easy: iPhone S2, iPhone M2, and iPhone L2.

Also, talking about the iPhone 6S and where it will live on in the lineup following the new launches: don't forget the iPhone 6 is still on sale as the true budget iPhone in markets like India, Indonesia and Malaysia. I imagine the 6S will replace the 6 in that case, going for about $300-400.

iPhone X SE sounds plausible until you start rearranging the letters. Like, it is such a perfect fit EXCEPT for you know, anagrams. Think about it: a cheaper version of the iPhone X, much like how the iPhone SE was a cheaper, normal iPhone.
So instead, I put my money on iPhone S. Just S.

Because Apple like to look like their staying ahead of the game its probably going to be iphone 11 and 11 plus.
Although i have come up with some names of my own.
The iphone Grand and the Iphone Grand Plus some more $$$
or
The iphone ripoff and the iphone you have got to be kidding me at that price.
or
The iphone see how much their prepared to pay and the iphone see if the suckers will pay this much.
The list goes on much longer but you get the gist.

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2018It doesn't matter what it's called, I am just excited to finally have a great life and increas... moresame is said for every smartphone. one price to assemble and another price for retail. all android flagships have a big gap from assembling cost and retail cost.
im sure if u made something then u would want to make some money and increase price to cover cost and profit.

I still believe Apple will name these iPhones in a more "iPad" way, namely: iPhone Pro 5.8" and iPhone Pro 6.5" while the LCD variant must be iPhone 6.1". Cascading them down will be easier if you put the year straight after the name (2018) or the generation name (1st gen, 2nd gen, etc)
