Obviously people are waiting on the iphones to come out. When they do, huawei is going to bite their tongues for thinking they could ever become number 1 in just a year's time.

Kek Tech, 04 Aug 2018If Huawei is so great then why can't I walk into my local T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T store... moreWho cares if you can buy it from a cell provider. Unlocked phones will always be worth more than locked down crapware infested phones. The problem lies in crap LTE support. Otherwise I'd just get it from banggood, aliexpress, gearbest, etc.

They need to upgrade their hua/flower logo, single gradient and a better look, too ugly and complex now. And start using it.

Huawei is my favorite brand since Sony started showing disrespect for his loyal buyers, as I was, with the introduction of Leica and Porsche models, it become impossible to find better and more elegant elsewhere...

Too ambitious. Just took over Apple position now have the guts to claim Samsung's throne. We'll see if it happened next year. Huawei better start making real innovation and invention.

Josh, 03 Aug 2018You are a joke!! P20 series having bad screen??!! Have you even handled a huawei P20 pro?? We ... moreSo you're saying a bad screen, camera drawbacks, and an outdated CPU on a flagship phone are not drawbacks or deal breakers?
And we all know EMUI isn't the most desirable OS
So basically you're buying a camera that is 10 percent better than the next on the market, and what else?

Poor screen has always been issue on Huawei.

What's the point of providing 4K if it is useless because of no EIS?

If Huawei is so great then why can't I walk into my local T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T store and buy one in the US? Seems like they can't be that great if I can't even possibly use one.

ollyb1, 03 Aug 2018couldn't agree moreI totally disagree.

The Honor 8 was a well balanced phone. Great camera with all the necessary features and quality (it can even "read" QR-codes). It had all possible communications including IR-blaster, plenty of ram, sd-card slot, audio jack, great screen with real gorilla glass, audio jack with great quality. Fps at the back with some convenient features.

The honor 9 was compromised. The camera was worse and had no laser AF anymore, screen was worse and from then on it all went downhill. Today huawei's camera's have the same awful processing as Sony's offerings.

As for myself. I seriously doubt they will reach that top position. They were on the right path with the Honor 8 but they blew it since then. The Honor 9 has a worse camera despite the higher pixelcount. The Honor 10 is even worse due to overzealous sharpening. Some models have a notch others don't, some have an sd-card slot others don't, some have an audio-jack others don't, some have an IR-blaster others don't... It's clear to me that this is a company that lacks vision. That just throws whatever in the market and hope that something "sticks". They're morrons!

ollyb1, 03 Aug 2018couldn't agree moreConsidering its xiaomi and huawei that can't add LTE support for North and South america as well as Europe we haven't been missing much. Old nexus phones have a broader LTE support. Both companies should ditch cdma and broaden their LTE support if they want to be world players.
