I think Siri is just a glorified side-tracker that Apple have used to fool their loyal customers. Now don't be quick to judge, I am not an apple hater. I was one of those people who were eagerly waiting for the Iphone5 (or what ever)which would have had a revolutionary design and iOS-5. But it wasn't to be. To make things worse Steve Jobs passed away. With such disappointment back-to-back, I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2. Just a toy but none the less, its my temporary anti-depressant. :)

i have tried to use siri on 2 seperate iphone4s and both of them could not get a connection to the sir8i network....... lets see if this is resolved
I for one, am actually happy to live in such times of strong competition. Remember the days of Nokia vs SE? All there was to argue about was camera camera camera lol.
Very lucky now, multiple OSes iOS, Android, WP7, Bada, Meego, and even newer ones coming up on the horizon. Manufacturers also strong, each with their unique personality SE, Nokia, Apple, HTC, Motorola, Samsung.
So much choice, and yet still so much room for growth. Amazing.
guys we have to be happy instead of fighting with each others coz every company is claiming for crown so that they are making something really super we have to be happy that our world is updating... being a fanboy is bull**** don't be stupid coz you won't get anything from companies.

In a way, these fanboys are helping to spread knowledge about Siri ;)
Android already has voice actions integrated. atleast i see it in Froyo. But seems most commands work only when recognizer set to 'English (US)' Check out following youtube video posted more than a year ago.

Siri is not voice control, it is AI. You can chat with it, and it understands. Easiest example is Knight Rider, on your phone.
Military grade artificial intelligence is now on the iPhone. Welcome to the future:

And Siri isn't just a Voice Command app, it's roots can be traced to SRI and DARPA's project CALO, the largest AI project EVER launched.
Siri is a smartphone AI and not just a voice command app.

android fan , 12 Oct 2011samsung galaxy s2 has voice talk and other simular app to this which has been out longer so no... moreYes definitely. Voice control is very old technology, even when dumbphones were around. They work by direct commands.
Siri is not voice control software (only), it is Artificial Intelligence, possibly the first time AI has been integrated into a phone the way Apple has done it, and is quite groundbreaking. So, Siri can 'understand' your questions, even if indirect, like "Do I need a raincoat today?" which other voice apps cannot do.
This video shows how Siri can prepare a text, pause, check the calendar, then send out the text without direct commands:
samsung galaxy s2 has voice talk and other simular app to this which has been out longer so not exactly new?

Vlingo! Genius!
So which is it? LOL at Android fans stumbling all over themselves getting their panties all bunched up.

"The software itself goes BEYOND pre-designated voice commands and uses speech pattern recognition along with ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE applications to allow users to search the net, write messages, set alarms, check the weather and generally access the plethora of features available on their iPhone, all by voice."
every fin fandroids are more interested in apple threads than theirs...
