But even the the iPhone X has that Kinect in that notch, which at least justifies the size. Here Google has no reason to justify that ugly notch. Even the Zenfone 5z, with stereo speakers, has a much, MUCH smaller notch!
As for the camera, Pixel 2's camera "hardware" was nothing extraordinary, it was all software magic that made it great. And I am sure the selfie camera "hardware" would be anyway better than other notched devices like the Honors, Huaweis, Oneplus etc with much higher res selfie cameras.

When Pixel 2 Xl was launched -
1. Some people complained about lack of headphones in the retail box.
Apologist said, "We all have headphones anyway so we don't need that."

2. Pixel 3 XL will come with one. I wonder what those apologists will do with those extra ear buds, anyway i'm here if you need me.

i'm utterly disappointed in their design choice ... they could've made speakers on the edge to reduce the notch and the bezel at bottom i'm really really really disappointed ... who every approved this design at Google's headquarter need to be kicked out :/
