Geric.770, 11 Aug 2018Tru dat. Almost all stock Android features came from Samsung.Yeah no doubt, ANDROID NOUGAT's Split-Screen feature came from SAMSUNG UX, which was already available for their users that were using ANDROID MARSHMALLOW at that point of time

You better ask "Who in the their right mind is buying a phone for the camera these days?". Sony or Samsung, Huawei or Apple ... There's no big difference. Nuances. Those who want a good camera, will buy a camera, not a phone. Especially today, when you can get a small mirrorless camera or a DSLR for much less money than phones. Samsung, Sony, Huawei, Apple, $1000. Canon M50 or 800D, $600 with the kit zoom lenses.

Sony's software is indeed the best. I used Z1 compact before S7 then S9 now. Missed Sony software but unfortunately the don't have OLED phone.

Not expecting that Sony will surprise us with support for RAW and third-party apps having control over noise reduction and sharpening.
They used to have a good reputation with the Cybershot branding. See how they squandered that. Who in their right mind is buying a Sony phone for the camera these days? Technology like HDR+ should be coming from Sony - not Google!
Could it be that the camera folks at Sony don't want the camera phones to steal market share so they intentionally make the cameras on the Xperia phones crappy?

tomo100brt, 11 Aug 2018For you yes. I switched to bluetooth long time ago.Not only that
Sony at least had a more reasonable reason for doing that. They are selling more wireless headsets than wired ones, but despite that, they even had a better solution with their Y-style dongle, which allows for both USB C and 3.5mm jack at the same time.

Those phones, at least the majority of them, would receive the Pie update after they finished on their flagships, which won't even take that long.

You see, Android's native split screen multitasking had way more diverse apps supported than Samsung Experience.
And not all of them. LDAC codec on Oreo is from Sony, not Samsung.
