huawei is garbage, they dont even include headphone jack in their flagships, they should think about that when they start to mock the biggest phone maker in the world...
who started big screen phones? it wasnt sure as hell huawei....
The one is the original and the other is made in china.
All those people who are bragging about Kirin 970 being inferior to Snapdragon 845 and assuming Mate 20 Pro will be behind next year's flagships... Think before you comment! Kirin 980 is obviously going to be more powerful than 845 and since it'll feature newer CPU and GPU cores based on more advanced 7nm process node. It'll be the direct competitor to Snapdragon 855 and the upcoming Exynos chipset.

In daylight it doesn't retain highlight information as much as Pixel 2 does but still fares better than XZ2 Premium, and the same goes for S9, which has even wider dynamic range(partially by lowering the contrast) as long as the amount of light is sufficient. In low light P20 Pro is arguably the best low light shooter with S9 being close second, and while XZ2 Premium does decent job as for detail rendition it falls behind in other area especially in dynamic range, overexposing a lot around light sources but also crushing shadow details.
>Even the U12+ does a better job with retaining a more natural shot in low light, which I will take over an overexposed, overhighlighted mess
If you had seen all the comparison on Youtube you should've known that U12 overexposes more than S9 at night.
>Many are saying Sony got the best of Huawei with arguably less
You need to take the brand loyalty into consideration. There are like 100 times more Sony fans on the internet than Huawei fans with many of them being hardcore fanboys who've been defending their smartphone cameras since Z5 era.
Plus If you're talking about the camera comparison between XZ2 Premium and P20 Pro uploaded by Matthew Moniz, you shouldn't. Manual mode is not the way to compare the auto processing on smartphones, shooting in auto is.

I'm happy to see this news since I'm considering getting a Huawei myself.
Since the time of the Note4 (which I still love, use & consider the best phone ever made to date), Samsung has indeed been sitting way too comfortably in their seats. The Note7 fiasco didn't shake things up much nor did the imprisonment of the Samsung heir so looking at how aggressive Huawei is and how good their phone specs are (except for the dreaded notch) this might actually be the first step in a turning point for Samsung to rethink their lame hardware depriving & outdated software strategies.
At least Samsung had the decency to include SD card expansion and a headphone port.
Anonymous, 12 Aug 2018What you said makes no logical sense at allWell it does have an aging 845 CPU when Huawei and Apple will have brand new cpu's with the new 7nm and note 9 won't. Be better off waiting for the S10 which will have the 855 cpu.

At the end of the day, the great majority of end users are common people, not photography enthusiasts, and care very little of what their eyes are already capable of seeing.

Both the S9 and P20 go for overexposing the shot and making the colors pop out to such an effect that the picture doesn't retain its natural colors. I get how some people think that makes the pictures more pleasing, but it really doesn't. It makes the picture look more fake and doctored up. There is a reason why people still think that Pixel 2 XL STILL has the best overall camera a year later despite other cameras allegedly doing "low light" better. I don't like that overexposed look that I see from Chinese/Korean smartphone cameras. But that's probably their software and gimmicks. Even the U12+ does a better job with retaining a more natural shot in low light, which I will take over an overexposed, overhighlighted mess.
Go look up the YouTube comparisons of P20 Pro and XZ2 Premium. Many are saying Sony got the best of Huawei with arguably less.
nobrain3000, 12 Aug 2018The one is the original and the other is made in china.China is also in this world and so is South Korea.
Huawei had a point on what he said about new Samsung Note 9, upgrades is just a minor, just like samsung S8 and S9 its very little upgrades like processor and camera thats it. so they do the same thing with Note 8 to Note 9 minor upgrades there is nothing special about what Huawei did on their flagship phones every year
Anonymous, 11 Aug 2018A taste of their own medicine. And the joke is on them. Hahaha. Now what? Samboys, ATTACK!relative the the iphone, Samsung is right, relative to both, Huawei is right. nothing to attack anybody, this is just marketing..
Well, you know what?
Samsung Galaxy S10, it is rumoured that it might come with a total of 5 cameras, 3 back, 2 front. :D
Although I believe that Samsung is purist, and doesn't believe in combining images from 2 cameras and all that stuff... So, we might expect a wide angle, a normal main cam and a tele.
Anyhow, for the present, I can't help but admit that Huawei are right.... :D That they are.
The one is the original and the other is made in china.
Considering how garbage Huawei tends to be, I'd never mock Samsung if I was them
