The screen with such kind of a notch looks like an ass of a girl. And that ugly chin once again!

I have to say what they have done with screen extension / notch style area is elegant and easy on the eye. Far more pleasing than essential or other notches. Essential had a good idea, but if your gonna have it, then make it stylish.

            Just... don't.
It calculates the area of a square made by length and width of phone and by compares it to the square size of the display.
A real STB ratio takes rounded body corners, rounded display corners, notch cutout and all the different things into account.

rolandudv, 15 Aug 2018I didn't think there would be a day when I would actually say this, but that notch is actually... moreSo you like notches but you dont like screen extensions around the earpiece and sensors.

The iPhone X (and the copycats) are doing screen extensions around the phone's hardware in order to make use of all the wasted space on the front of their phones, without sacrificing functionality.
The essential and this oppo f9 have notches (screen cutouts) where the screen should be straight. These look bad and are disfunctional, as they take away a range of sensors and hardware from the phone and they cut into the screen with a small notch for just one thing they could not get rid of.

If the cutout is less than 1/3rd of the screen width and limits functionality and features, that's a notch.
If the cutout is 1/3rd or larger compared to the screen witdth and it still holds all the needed hardware and sensors, that's a screen extension.

Notches are ugly and make no sense. Screen extensions look smart and are actually useful.

Buy the essential phone. It's for $330 on amazon. Stock Android, better hardware, awesome build, fastest updates and small notch. Battery is small though, and camera not very great but the community is active and is pushing customized gcam ports. Plus essential had only one phone rn so they'll concentrate more on it.
I don't think that they'll not release an essential ph-2

I wonder where the proximity and ambient light sensor, and the notification LED are housed and how. Or does Oppo just let go of them?

Personally, I wouldn't buy the Huawei Nova 3i either because notch is just not my thing but still, I don't see why any reasonable person would buy this over the Huawei Nova 3i, which is from a more reputable brand and even has a lower price tag.

I didn't think there would be a day when I would actually say this, but that notch is actually bearable and something I wouldn't complain about too much.

They tried to make it as small and elegant as it could be. Also, those diamond patterns on the back look really great in my opinion.

If this is 90% I guess we will actually reach 90%+ (in BtS ratio) are you going to call it 102% percent?

Mean this kind of lying simply does not compute
