Well @ 1.2 kg, swimming away is unlikely to be the best option (unless it's in a helium sealed bag).
Mind you this is probably still lighter than the 1st generation of phones that came out in the 1980's
The Galaxy Note 9 weighs 201g, which is absolutely fine & is 8.8 mm deep.
I (and I'm sure most people) would be happy to increase the depth of their phone by 1 or 2mm to 1cm to enable better optics/ components, bigger battery, heat regulation, performance etc.

Another gold phone... ugh... i know it's more of a status symbol rather than a phone, but i still fail to see how anyone could take themselves seriously while using such a phone...
