What 20%! 20% one shit! A Cortex A76 at 7nm how could be only 20% of improvement? Must be is 40% or 50%, now 20%, i don't believe in that. It will get probably more 1000 pts in the Geekbench score around 3000 in single core. And you don't need to remove my post because i didn't offended nobody, because what i'm telling is true. How can that a Cortex A76 at 7nm at 2.8GHz only will have 20% of increase of performance in relation to a Cortex A73 10nm? It's unbelievable. Nor even is an A75.

Ridiculous. I own the phone and theres a simple settings to change that behaviour. VLC did the right thing blocking all huawei user because of the low rating given. Its the stoopid huawei user itself not EMUI fault. Well i'm using MX Player anyway and gave no problems at all.

EMUI always had a bad rap for stuttering/lagging after a couple of months of use and notorious for their ridiculous policy of killing all background apps (except their own), which was confirmed by the VLC team. Even their P20 Pro can't scroll through their own phone dialer without stutter.
I don’t know about head to head comparison, but I think SD 845 is already 20% faster than 970.
So , not waiting for this chipset with baited breath is totally fine.
Huawei rushing and working overtime to launch the M20 a month early.3 to 4 months they have on Qualcomm. It's not about Samsung and Huawei. Its all about Kirin and Qualcomm now.

Emui is so good they always optimised your storage system (self defragmentation disk at night when it needs to). The same goes on my wife Mate 9. It is better than my all previous Sony phone and of course far better than Samsung's (which definitely slowing down after a year). Are u sure u not trolling?

I don't care about the cpu as long as they keep the notch and don't bring back the 3.5mm jack.
Processors have been powerful enough for a a long time, it's functionality and practicality that lack.

Before that, the opposite mantra was pushed: "Oh it's about user experience, not hollow numbers". LOL, except the user experience has always been the biggest problem with their crippled software and hardware functionality.

I had a mate 9 for a year before I hopped onto Samsung's train.. the mate 9 seemed snappy at first but oh was I wrong. I soon started playing games on it and using tons of storage and editing pics and vids only to find out my older S6 did it better. Yeah, the overheating SD810 proved more powerful than the "newer" KiRin 960.
They just cut down animations and pretend everything's fast, but that's not true. With time, they slow down a lot. I think it's because of the EMUI overlay. My brother's P20 Pro used to take 1 sec to take a picture with the double tap volume shortcut.
Now it takes sometimes 10 seconds to only launch the camera.. I won't trust them never again!
Those Kirin and Exynos chips are at least 1 year behind Snapdragon chips in performance.
Also the Snapdragon chips are 2 years behind Apple chips.

even google.. cough.. cough.. if u read arthem @ android police founder rant his pixel 2 xl super stuttering issue, so welcome to 2018.
Any mobile phone manufactured by China is out of my consideration, no matter how strong it is.
xOdd, 17 Aug 2018Pretty sure the Antutu benchmarks were fake. They said 20% improved performance over the 970,... moreYes, that's exactly what I was thinking. Some people have complained about lag/stutter in previous Huawei top of the line phones. About software not being optimized. I wonder if these issues will continue.
Imperator Neubaticus, 17 Aug 2018Lol at people thinking 0.1472664940 milliseconds in speed is going to matter in practical usage. This is the mindset created by Apple,
Just in time Apple iPhones will set new records in September 2018 despite the lack of microSD expansion and no media sharing
Flagship phones now are equipped with Snapdragon 845, or 10nm process
The Kirin 980 is the next iteration or the 7nm which no Android has at the moment,
Having stated this before 2020 mid-range phones no doubt utilize Snapdragon 845.
I appreciate your answer and how these improvements are unperceivable by humans
So, is this a good chip or a "meh" chip? Worth the upgrade from P20s??
Don't really care about the Mate 20, what I care is how EMUI 9.0 will perform with the Kirin 980. If it's gonna perform well, might consider the P30 series as a choice for my next phone (other choices will be the 5.4" Pixel 3 and the 2018 iPhone X (non-plus version)

7nm, incoming. hope to see big performance gains
