Anonymous, 19 Oct 2011I still have my Nokia N82, but i don't use it. I wish i could put the N82 5MP camera in my SGS... moreI am not surprised by the results. To this day, photos captured by my N82 still turn heads of the largest of fanboys.
My N82 is still my primary phone. It's simple, perfect camera (even after 4 years) and can be used with one hand. Can't go to a club without my N82. The only real flaw of the camera is capturing grass. There should have been more software optimization done on the N82 and should have been updated to FP2.
My second phone, is the beastly N900 ;)
Nokia, seriously screwed up with their flagship support. N85 was better supported than their flagship N95 8GB.

I wish i could put the N82 5MP camera in my SGS2. Just like a month ago at my apartment my friend was showing me the camera on his iPhone 4. I took out my N82 from the shelf i teach him a lesson. We both took pictures of my ceiling fan when it was moving around a high speed. His picture came out so blurry and bad quality. It was not even funny. On the N82 the picture was absolutely still, like the fan was not even moving, and you can see every detail on the moving object. Amazing! I forgot how good the N82 camera was. Like 6 months ago a read a article in "Mobil", the biggest magazine for mobile phones in Scandinavia. They had face off between old phone cameras and new ones on popular phones to see what has changed. The Nokia N82, a 4 year old camera beat the living daylights out of SGS2, Iphone 4 and some HTC device.

As for the camera, you are right. That's why I still use my N82 to this day. Wonderful daytime and nighttime photos. 4 year old phone capable of freezing a photo in a club. The only other phones actually worthy of a higher pixel count are the N86 and N8. They offer much larger sensors to cope with more pixels. Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4S have sensors smaller than the one on my N73.

OMAP 4460 has the CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and the GPU at 384MHz as opposed to 4430 with a 1GHz/304MHz split. Check the benchmarks of what the 304MHz SGX540 is capable compared to 200MHz and then imagine the 384MHz version. Huge jump.
