It's unwise to chose a phone based on its cpu (Well unless it has a really slow cpu like low-end quad-cre models) if you don't care about games. Most phones already run perfectly fast (As long as their roms as well enough optimized) and there's no need for more power in everyday work. So "secondary" specifications/features are much more important.

For those specs and this price point , this deal is incomparable by all means , the only thing that could worry you is the long term support since the company is falling , but with vanilla android and the developers , who cares?

GovindRuby, 20 Aug 2018Xiaomi is Not Perfect. Mi A2/ Mi 6X also Don't Have a Headphone Jack and Its battery Is Small Too. Yea of course they are not perfect, but still, more bearable at least.
I was actually talking about the older Redmi 5 plus, which should coust as much as the Essential phone. Not perfect, but at least it has a 3.5mm jack, better battery and no notch.

For me the only reaso... morethe noth on V10 as you call it, i call it second screen, there no notch, oh, well, have a little notch but is off screen, where the dual cameras are but, even then, look better than this days notched middle phones....and, i still have my V10, and still is a eye catcher fom much people around.
This phone, well, to test a SD835 and stock Android with Pie is a steal right, but for all other things is tra$h, is not essential like the name, is BASIC.
