I don't think the Mate 10 Lite will get Pie when the pro or non pro gets it. Huawei for some reason, doesn't consider the Lite versions as the same family as the non pro and pro versions, so the Mate 10 Lite will probably get Pie around the same time as the Honor 7x.

I wonder if my Y9 will get it, too? It's a mid-range phone (a pretty good one at that), so that's rather uncertain at the moment.

Starting EMUI 8 it follows Android number version. (Previously EMUI 5 is Nougat & EMUI 4 is Marshmallow). Unless it uses EMUI 8.1 or 8.2, thats the same android version with only new features added.

So they have time to implement it. Unless you talking about android one and stock android phone, no phone will get android pie in the first few day it released. -_- *smh

Huawei are better than samsung with updates imo.

Plus they release phones with the latest OS uodate, like the Mate 20 which will have Android Pie while Samsung released the Note 9 with Android Oreo which is over a year old. Smh.

There has been like a few months, during which no updates arrived at all, but still I'm happy with this level of support. Hope they won't forget this phone, it surely can easily handle Android Pie.

I used to have bad experience with Huawei devices when it comes to system updates. But all my devices were unlocked from a carrier so I think that Is the reason I always got updates last one.

Hope with my P20 Pro wont be the case.

So, is this true android Pie 9.0 or just EMUI 9.0 immitating android pie layered on old android kind of update? The update is amazingly fast for customed skin android.

Based on experience, i know Huawei/Honor will support their device greatly! Both my Honor 8 pro and Mate 10, my wife Mate 9 receive security patch every month since day 1! Including oreo update on Honor 8 pro & Mate 9 in early of 2018.

Knowing EMUI is much more harder to apply than stock android, this is great achievement. No wonder they running into the top this time.

Huawei needs to show they can do software too with quick updates and good support for older devices. That is the main differentiator between them and other top brands like Samsung.
