Stefy The First acknowledged that in the first part of their comment. Power users are heavily outnumbered by the kind of users described in the second paragraph though.
Note 9 feels awful in the hand compared to Note 8.. Note 8 is more sleek and and beautiful imo.. I would've bought Note 8 if it dropped in price.. wich it hasnt at least in Norway, its still about 1000 euro

Adding the RAM boost while increasing the price at least makes it a bit less unacceptable compared to what all others do.
[deleted post]Essential Phone has only one mobile, maybe 3000 customers, they can do anything and get away! Samsung from the beginning used TouchWiz for many of the advanced functionalities that even stock OS implemented very later point in time. Samsung need not worry about upgrading to Pie or some other versions so long they keep their OS security patch level updated.
Mr Magma, 21 Aug 2018Here come the sony fanbois to talk about 4k displays, bugged camera and dongle life :3Great share. Unfortunately, it appears I'm the only one who cares, and yep, I'm also a big Sony fan so big jokes on you :)

No surprise here. This is one of those cases where topping up a little bit extra for the best value you can get. Note 9 is honestly the most "feature complete" smartphone ever. A 98% perfect phone as it is.
And the buy one get one deal available in some places made that a sweet deal.
However hopefully they learn it's a bit pricy by seeing that most of the sales came from pre orders with special offers or buy one get one... And then they slow down.
We shal see
Really much money for a great phone, even though its hardware is just about to get replaced by the next gen.
Shanti Dope, 21 Aug 2018GSMArena's review of the Note 9 are both the proof.

you expect same battery performance?
There are lots of phone at half the price and people like you can buy whatever suits you
Note 9 are for people like me who wants the best smartphone out there...
People like you are the worst... complaining everything
Didn't they say also that S9 sales were better than S8 ? How can you trust them...
Thab33f, 21 Aug 2018Proof of it not having a good camera and battery? Most test shows that their the best in the m... moreGSMArena's review of the Note 9 are both the proof.
Camera is average at best. Similar setup on the Galaxy S9/S9+ yields much better results, and that is already somehow inferior to last year's Note 8, which itself is also a tad weaker than the S8/S8+.
Check them in the photo comparison tool and see for yourself. Compare them especially in low light, where the difference is even more noticeable.
Battery life falls short for such capacity. My Redmi 5 Plus, with less efficient 14nm chipset, more energy hungry IPS LCD, as well as less power optimized Nougat OS, with the same 4000mAh battery, could go past 100h mark, which is the base standard for such capacity for a smartphone.
But I don't care. Teardown of the Note 9 makes me think it's not even something as large as its specifications say.
And there are people who do care for the hardware that they get. They simply can't get away with that, and not now at the time when others are offering flagship level of performance at almost half the price of this phone. The bottomline is that people are now getting more and more aware of what they're going to purchase before doing it.
AnonD-598579, 21 Aug 2018I totally get the people that are using this beast at 100% of what can offer. 1250 euros for a... moreAnd yet it's not the same for everyone. I preordered the Note 9 because of my work, the FE is acting up (as per condition. It's STILL an excellent phone and I love the 16:9 display it has) and because the support is limited at best and literally non existent otherwise, I'd rather get a 9.
Nowadays, with the evolution of HD media, 1080p; 4K and the 8K to come. Without forgetting the offline modes of music streaming applications such as Apple Music, Google Music, Spotify and Deezer. Who need considerable storage space to store music so that they can be listened to offline.
Active people want more memory, battery, better photo sensor and useful features, with the ergonomics and design that goes with it.
Thab33f, 21 Aug 2018Proof of it not having a good camera and battery? Most test shows that their the best in the m... moreAs I understand it, it would cost Samsung less money using its own SoC than Qualcomm snapdragon.
The Snapdragon 845 is marginally faster, Samsung using the slower chip in a flagship phone would garnish a backlash by consumers.
Snapdragon if you reverse it has to be faster as not to use it in favour of Snapdragon.. Well
People do care as Apple have made benchmarks the substitute for lack of features.
As I understand it these use the 10nm process, the next flagship i.e will use fin get 7nm process and support 5G.
Unless you run benchmarks, it will be unlikely that opening apps there is any lag.
A point made in another post is their laptop is only 256Gb, free cloud at best is 10Gb.
Personally 16Gb phone storage suits me for Apps, I have 50 hours estimated of music on my phone 100 music videos, I am using less than a quarter of my 64Gb card
A question that I would want GSMA to ask is whether or not they have their media backed up?
NörgelmannIII, 21 Aug 2018Are there statistics about data on phones? As for me I got 128gb, devided into: 10GB music, 5G... moreYour usage is different than mine. On my note FE (64+256) the phone screams "Halp me! X_x" because I store a TON of files that I need, either as a gamer, for work (because you can't use iPhone for storage. -_-) and for other personal stuff. For me, 512 GB is ESSENTIAL because of it.
Someone Else, 21 Aug 2018You're paying $250 more for the the 512GB storage, and the 8 GB of RAM.
The additional RAM... moreYou basically reworded everything the guy you replied to said, lol, but off to you.
As much as 8GB of RAM is a business strategy, the extra chip also serves a purpose..
It isn't there just for the "I'm 8GB! Buy me!" talk because in the long run it's there to be used.
Custom rom devs will surely take advantage of this extra memory.
Thab33f, 21 Aug 2018Umm... I don't see how it's a failureSamsung probably have loads of prefabricated 128GB and maybe ~5000 of the 512GB and didnt expect people to have such high interest in the top-end model and now they have to declare backorder because they don't have enough units to send out.
The 128GB will collect dust in their inventory and go on sale later this fall/christmas probably with free perks and accessories included.
