From where I am from, Singapore, pre-ordering a note 9 immediately upgrades u to the 512 GB one for the price of the 128 GB one. I believe the statistics isnt complete true if they considered this as "more people prefer the 512 GB version"

The additional RAM on the high-end configuration is a strategy to make people buy the high-end model, which is a normal business strategy that almost all phone manufacturers do, even Apple.

Shanti Dope, 21 Aug 2018Of course, more is always better, right?? I wonder why RAM has to be a distinct advantage in ... moreProof of it not having a good camera and battery? Most test shows that their the best in the market. Moreover, do u rlly think a average user (majority of the world's population) even care about the specs of the phone such as which chipset is being used? All everyone cares about is branding. Furthermore, the only reason Snapdragon chipsets are being used by Samsung is due to some markets not allowing Samsung to use their own in house chipsets such a s China and USA.

NörgelmannIII, 21 Aug 2018Are there statistics about data on phones? As for me I got 128gb, devided into: 10GB music, 5G... moreMostly photos and videos for people who can afford things like these but have no budget or access for true unlimited and high speed internet access. Nope, cheap and unlimited internet or free wifi is NOT everywhere.

Please don't use cloud storage as solution as the free version of each have pitiful storage allocation.

Even a few minutes of 1080p videos take more than a 100Mb and I am sure as hell not everyone is gonna upload them to dropbox 2gb edition. Or Google drive 15Gb edition.

Cloud storage can also go to shit or clamp down free storage like what happened to one drive. Why? Because they can.

I could hardly go over 32gb on internal storage consumption - said no 516gb Note 9 buyer ever.

Are there statistics about data on phones? As for me I got 128gb, devided into: 10GB music, 5GB photos/videos, 10gb games, 10GB System Files. That's 35GB taken of 128GB = 93GB free. Since I delete photos and videos of Messengers directly (it's 99% trash) and take photos on, like vacation, with a better camera and drop it on a harddrive it won't exceed 10GB any time soon. Videos I don't watch on a 6" screen with only 2 day battery life (make that 4 hours when watching video). What are people up to needing 512GB on a mobile device? Even my laptop runs 256GB...

I totally get the people that are using this beast at 100% of what can offer. 1250 euros for a phone is understandable, if you use your phone as your primary device (before laptop, tablet, PC, etc.).
What I don't get is those people that buy the best and expensive phone and when you asked them why did they bought it, they answer: Oh, is just a phone, it helps me on messages and instagram..
                                  Enough said.

You can get a OnePlus 6 with 8GB RAM & 256GB of storage for $630. The Note9 has a bigger, better screen, and some additional features, but even then it shouldn't cost more than $800... but it does, a grand is too much for a phone, irregardless of what logo it has on it's back. The worst part is that it hasn't stopped at a grand, it has surpasses it. The "premium" version of the Note9 costs $1250, that's just absurd.
