RMN, 23 Aug 2018No one has to pay 68k. With the amount of offers available no one ends up paying more than 60k... moreThose offers and deals are not for everyone which you have clearly highlighted yourself. The premium pricing is now harder to justify because it's a phone. To be honest, anything above 50k INR as a phone is just too much.

At least Note 9 is offering almost all mainstream features at much cheaper price than the iphone X. Apple should start assembling their phones in India if they want to capture the market rather than focusing on the profit instead of innovation.

Dilmeet, 22 Aug 2018With the launch of Pocophone F1, Sammy's premium pricing gap becomes harder to justify. Apple'... moreNo one has to pay 68k. With the amount of offers available no one ends up paying more than 60k. HDFC and Paytm mall offers 6k cashback and Samsung themseleves are offering 15k discount on exchanging an S7! I have to pay only 52k for a Note 8 if I exchange my S7 Edge.

Anonymous, 22 Aug 2018Samsung also has a Rs.6000 ~ $85 cashback offer, so in all price comes down to around $880. There's a theoretical buyback value of 32k for note 8..i would have gone for the 128gb one if the ram was 8gb

With the launch of Pocophone F1, Sammy's premium pricing gap becomes harder to justify. Apple's ecosystem has no competition but Android is a different story altogether. Those who can afford 68k INR won't bother but other group now has plenty to choose from.

iPhone X and Note9 both cost $999 in the US. But here in India it's drastically different, iPhone is around Rs.90K ($1300) while the Note is only Rs.68K ($980). I'll prefer Note9 any day, not just because it's way cheaper but also because it's way better! Good job Samsung!

This is probably the first time when a Samsung flagship is prices lower in India (in dollar terms) that the actual dollar price in the US.
Producing in India is probably working here.
