I am using j7 2016 from the year it's launched and still very much happy with it. I gave my phone to dad and planned to buy new. But i changed my mind and taken J6 2018
(Rs.10500) for my dad on may and taken back j7 2016 with me. Now happy to here that it will receive oreo but i am comfortable with Android 7.

S . SUDHAKAR, 04 Sep 2018Really disgusting. Samsung is ignoring Note 4 and A9 pro.Hi I have answered your question on another thread, I'm posting it again here:
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro (2016) will be getting Oreo (this was originally December) in January, so chill out :)
S . SUDHAKAR, 04 Sep 2018Really disgusting. Samsung is ignoring Note 4 and A9 pro.Note 4 it's too old year 2014! started out with 4.4.4 kitkat i got 5.0.2. 5.1.1 Lollipop 6.0.1 Marshmallows! How about A9 Pro probably did not have a great sales success and because of this they may have thought they no longer deserve to invest in a new software
Better late than never. But the fact that a low-end midranger (not the the A series) got 2 major OS upgrades is pretty good.
J3 pro 2017 already getting oreo update from 31 august in malaysia :)
Very nice to see this. I'm using J7 2016 for almost two years now, and it's still a nice phone, and I never had any problems with it. This also might be a game changer for other OEM's and their update policy.
So at least they do care about their low end and midrange phones.
That's a good one from them.
Or that's how they now justify their price since Huawei and Xiaomi are kicking their ass latley...
ProJames, 03 Sep 2018S6 was released in 2015.
But I get your point. However is there any 2015 flagship with Oreo... moreSince Samsung's new money-grabbing planned obsolescence roadmap scheme started with the implementation of a glass sandwich design which screams "PREMIUM", (yet is quite the opposite on fragility) just that lone fact definitely constitutes & warrants a OREO upgrade to the founding foundation S6 line which started the aforementioned "premium" trend to OEM's benefit.
They reap so much cash from these "user inaccessible" devices that at the very least they should give meaningful software updates.
Irfan, 03 Sep 2018J5(2016) ... My LG G5?? LG Wat the Hell r U doin?? Oreo pls ..J5 2016 will stay with 7.1.1 because have old procesor 28nm Snapdragon 410 . Only J7 2016 will receive Oreo 8.0.0. not even the A5 2016 received Samsung Experience and stayed at 7.0 Nougat with Grace UX
