I received an August 1, 2018 security patch today, 10/16/18, on my RETUS G5+. The update did not include Oreo 8 or 8.1.
i have received the oreo 8.1 update, but i heard that it is 32 bit update! why motorola dont release 64 bit update?
GSMarena - do you have any other sources for your story? There seems to be very few reports of updates being provided and Motorola own website says it is not yet available in any of those regions (othen than soak tests).
Motorola lying, oreo updates is not released yet.
You can check motorola website for same (https://support.motorola.com/in/en/softwareupgrade).
I had contacted motorola support staff for oreo updates information, they denied, still soak test running.
What a shame.
kartiklohia, 08 Sep 2018YesSo, Are you on Pixel Experience Rom right now?
If you are can you tell me that Gcam working on it and portrait mode working or not?
Still faster than flagship galaxy s3 i9300, plus g5s screen not easy to crack like s3 with half price as well
Motorola the shittiest stock android phone ever in 2018. Lienovo ruined it.
Don't go for Motorola, Even though devices are good, but totally suck on the name of UPDATES. Think 100 times before buying, or you can go for Custom ROM.
Maybe the update may arrive next year to Colombia when other countries are already receiving Android 9 P....nbeliveble.......
kartiklohia, 07 Sep 2018Google pay works in pixel experience rom 8.1 oreoHave you tried it because when the last I checked the rom, the magisk was not able to hide the root for Tez(Google Pay).
OMG, I can't believe Mexico is first to get an OTA update for the G5 (or any smartphone for that matter). We're usually last in line, e.g : the S7/S7 Edge are still stuck on Nougat .
I would say good for Moto and their loyal Latin American customers(they've got a huge market there), but the long wait is nothing to write home about
