.. cant understand why ericson need to give-up their share?,,i can still recall my uncle's ericson phone ( a large one )wayback 1998 if im not mistaken , and thats the first mobile phone i saw before i met nokia 5110 in 2000. They are one of the leaders in telco mobile... they could been better by continuing their visions and contributions..

lol it's not good for sony.
most patents are owned by Ericsson. If two of them broke up, im sure Apple put their greedy hands on Ericsson...

It's a good news. Now sony will do his own and bring advance and integrated phone. But when it will introduce new phone? What will happen that beautiful logo.
              I really miss that.

Now if they can give us a TRUE PlayStation phone. This reminds me back in 2006 when Apple partnered with Motorola. The first ROKR was the first phone that could sync to iTunes. It flopped. By 2007, Apple finally delivered on that "iPod phone" with the original iPhone. Xperia Play = ROKR = flop in sales. Now Sony needs to get their hands dirty and do this themselves.

SONY just needs to give us a proper PlayStation phone once the PS Vita gravy train stats running out steam after 2-3 years since dedicated handhelds look to be a dying breed. And they need to jumpstart the PlayStation Suite already. Sony can dominate portable gaming in the next gen across two different markets.

sony buy ericsson? this wont make a difference... first of all sony should get rid of the ericsson logo off their company logo... (good marketing stragety)then concentrate on samsung's latest chips so they can catch up to samsung and apple... sony ericsson's chip/cpu is very poor.... only thing thats good is camera thats it... sony ericsson's touch screen is very poor.. BRAVIA ENGINE? are u kidding me? thats just normal touch screen (bad marketing strategy)... BRAVIA ENGINE will not even reach super amoled... samsung is just laughing at sony ericsson right now... i hope to see sony getting back up on their feet

Bye Bye Sony Ericsson. Or should I say Bye Bye Ericsson.

I'm sure in time this will be good news. I've been loyal to Ericsson and then Sony Ericsson (SE) since 1999. I've had ten phones in that time, three Ericsson and seven Sony Ericsson. For the first time I have two current phones SE Ray and SE Cedar. I can honestly say, that I have only had a few (minor) problems, which compares well to many friends' mobile phones. The reliability of Samsung, LG and HTC to name but a few has been appalling if my friends' experiences have been anything to go by. Indeed, when I upgrade, I usually recycle the phones to relatives and there are some very old SE phones out there, giving sterling service (up to eight years old). By todays 'throw away' standards, that's pretty good! My phones have been Philips Diga, Ericsson A1018, R320, R520, Sony Ericsson T610, K700i, K750i, K800i, C902.
