Lower specs than the usual Nokia phones of that time. Lower functionality and built quality. But priced ridiculously high. Because of its small size and "elite" category. Yet, many buy it.
Apple's iPhone series is taking the exact approach with current generation of smartphones.

On the contrary, notification area is a direct copy of Apple from Android.
iPhones don't have this kind of thing before 4s. While for Android, it's been around for several version. Not sure if it's around from the very first version 1.0 though.
Siri is also a copy of Samsung's Vlingo. Obviously Galaxy S2 has been around for a while, making huge sales, before 4s with Siri was introduced. They're both almost exactly the same. Although Siri seems to extend it a little bit more. But Siri needs perfect American English accent. While Vlingo can accept even imperfect Asian accents. So each has its own pro and con.

It has nothing to do with specs or ability, cause let's face it, Apple has never been cutting edge, more a compilation or popularisation of others' ideas. And as you said, all phones are built by the same overworked underpaid Asians, of largely the same materials.

It's the retail price. When the retail price is high, consumers associate it with a higher quality.; you get what you pay for. Apple customers are monkeys, who are trusting of this exploitative technique, and thus, a brand is born.

Just returned home from Berlin, and with this new toy unless i needed it. But now and then i figured out that the old friends iphone4 and galaxy tab 7" are useless. Gonna send more comment on it soon but i can say for now, the screen is incredibly bright, and big enough to feel its a tablet more than a phone.

Yeah okay, Now if you look at Australia for example who do not have a textile industry, however if you buy clothing you will see most of the items have labels saying "Made in China, for Australia" The quality is FAR superior to anything found in most of the western worlds.

Now if you bring that back into the respect of electronics, if you look at Samsung and all of the other massive electronic manufacturers in most asian countries, they produce EVERYTHING. Everything insided of an apple phone is made in some asian country and/or produced by Samsung, LG etc.

The thing is if you pay the chinese xxx amount and tell them you want this product you will get EXACTLY what you pay for in relation to quality. So get your facts straight when it comes to bashing everything, stereotypes are bad man, so bad. :(
