Kryo 385 on SD845 and 360 on the New SD710 are probably copied/pasted Cortex A75 (like Kryo 260/280 are obviously copied/pasted A73)
Arm only increases instructions per cycle (IPC)
2 IPC for A73
3 for A75
4 for A76
It increases benchmark results but not everyday life of the device (in Speedtest SD660/710 are really close)...it increases heating and power draining too.
As Mediatek said they won't release soc in 10 or 7nm this year, I can't imagine A76 in 12nm on P80
In my opinion, you can get better real-life sustained results with A73 clocked at 2.5ghz than with A75 clocked at 2.0 or even 2.2ghz.
Increasing IPC isn't the solution for mobile devices...cores spend their time waiting for results.
I would like to see a "Cortex A74" core, 2IPC, DynamIQ complient to be linked with A55
Anonymous, 15 Sep 2018A downclock P60, I doubt... P60 is clock at 1989Mhz exactly...39Mhz less means nothing... ... moreIndeed. If Oppo decided to utilize the underpowered SD439 on the toned-down R17, then most likely we're facing a rich-colored A-series phone xD. Hopefully it just a downclocked Helio P60, or even the upcoming P80 with the not-so-brand-new Cortex-A75 CPU
TenMoon, 14 Sep 20181.95GHz. It could be the SD439 (octa-core 4x 1.95 + 4x 1.45) chip. Or it just a down-clocked Helio.A downclock P60, I doubt...

Maybe a newer P80 with Cortex A75 instead of A73...rumors said Oppo will be among the first to use it.
In my opinion, outside benchmark, A75 and A73 mostly behaves the same...so that we have to look at GPU, AI, LTE, bluetooth improvement.
If it is a SD639 (helio P22 level), it will be a huge performances drop!
Shanti Dope, 14 Sep 2018Just in time when Xiaomi has finally cleared their stock of SD625 LOLFinally!
