"And to be honest, we can't quite figure out who'd prefer this wanna-be-a-tablet-and-smartphone instead of a full-fledged tablet running Windows 8 natively."

Who are we? Plug in your brains; I would get it now!

K-Face, 29 Oct 2011Why are they pissing against the wind with this? Just go with Android or Mango.Generally speaking, any fortress of science and technology will be broken through by the external super-powers with their breakthrough technology. It is the search engines that devaluate all the portal websites, instead of another portal website. What devaluates Google is not another search engine named Baidu, but a SNS website called Facebook. Likewise, It will be not the smart phone named iPhone to devaluate Smartphone camp, but could be done by the xpPhone from PC camp.
